IDW just fired a bunch of directionless, underpaid editors. Nothing about how it functions was adjusted. Instead of focusing their talent and ousting old guard, IDW has only made the jobs of the remaining staff much harder without actually fixing anything. That's the key difference, and why communication is getting worse over there.

The trick about being able to get rid of the "old guard" is that you have to have people to replace them. If you don't have a replacement lined up, you can't replace anyone.

In DC's case, they didn't replace those roles because they went ahead and cancelled a ton of books instead hence why I said "leaner and meaner". IDW doesn't publish a lot of books but looking at their line up, I'm not sure how many editors they need.

Only editor I know off the top of my head is Heather "Hail Satan" Ontos who does all the Star Trek stuff. The bulk of the work would be on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles given that line is expanding (and is the real money maker). But I'm rambling...
