Just watched an Analyzing Evil on The Master, because YouTube has been putting it in my recommended tab off and on, and the vid gave me a couple thoughts.

There's a holotape detailing FEV animal testing that mentions two unaccounted pairs of raccoons. The devs cut a sentient raccoon settlement, IIRC because one of the writers pressured the other(s) that it would be too silly. This makes me sad, and wonder what kind of stuff was left on 2077's cutting-room floor. The whole thing also reminded me how much I disdain the sanitation that's happened to the series, since Bethesda just wants to make cartoon games for babies. I trust CDPR more, but I do wonder what kind of sanitization 2077 went through when it was adapted from the ttg, and I really hope Orion doesn't continue or worsen the trend.

In my experience, using the checker generates a modlist.txt, which the game prioritizes. It doesn't cause a problem until you try to add or rename mods, then they get excluded from the load

Is there any way to actually delete save files? Whenever I delete them, they just become a corrupted save file that I can't get rid of no matter how many times I delete. Cloud save is off.

Well, I did the mech fight for PL before my save died, and its AI was completely dead. Pretty sure it wasn't ENC, so it makes me think CR might still be kinda buggy/unfinished.

Even at min HP, ENC leaves enemies pretty tanky, which isn't a bad thing necessarily since most people are borged out anyway, and I would just craft 5++ gear to get over the damage curve. But, having my save currupt, and seeing hiw much better the game runs and loads on a smaller file was kind of a big killjoy and I don't really want to craft anymore. And considering weapons almost triple in damage from tier 1 to 5, I just don't really want to deal with ENC anymore. Feels bad

It's size related. Each patch they've incresed it a little bit, but therexs always been a max size after whichbthe game can't load the saves. In 2.3 it's 15mbs and it 2.2 it was 13. My latest saves were all pushing 13 so there wasn't a point in trying to go back (convenietly I'd also only done about as much content as the PL New game, so all I really lost was my Street Cred and purchased/crafted stuff).

As far as I've ever heard, the culprits are crafting and uncollected loot. And I had done a lot of crafting, as I was trying out Preem Weaponsmith, and dismantling weapons to upgrade cyberware rather than selling and buying (selling and buying is the way to go for anyone wondering)

CR and ENC have some conflicts because the CR author is one of those tards who throws in all kinds of nonsensical shit so HIS mod will be the one people use instead of just optimizing it for compatibility.

Just ditch one of them and you'll be good. Ideally CR since despite ENC's age and bugs it is still very good at what it does and I see really no good reason to get rid of it. The fact it makes Maxtac, Oda, and Adam actually as difficult to fight as they should be lore-wise is reason alone for me to never get rid of it until something better comes along.

Rarity fixes is incompatible with HC22 and ENC since it changes a lot of similar values. I'd get rid of it but it does have some great changes I wish the author would put up separately. Gunsensical is solid but it has awful default balancing and you're going to need to do some real tweaking to get it into a good spot. Up to you if it's worth the effort.

Personally I think all you truly need for an "immersive, difficulty adding" playthrough is hc22, enc, dark future, wannabe edgerunner, and night city alive+prevention police enchancement.
You can add other minor shit if you please but that lineup will easily set you for a whole playthrough.

you go to the mod browser and try to find the folder that has the solo body mesh files, then add them to you project and use that body for your npv instead of the vanilla body mesh
the folder for me is named 006_Solo_OG__v2.0.archive
the same is with all the mods you want to use, you need to search them with the mod browser and add the files you want to your project. the mod browser is a toggle in your Asset browser

HC and enc do have some minor conflicts but nothing that's going to be an actual problem. But for the most part they do an excellent job of balancing out each other. HC makes combat much more grounded and "realistic" which does make the game easier if you're good at shooters but ENC knocks the difficulty back up by making most of the factions and bosses more kitted out in a lore-appropriate way.

I would love to see CR hit its potential though. If the author does a big update of his AI-only version and removes all of the stupid npc edits he did in it I'd probably use it again. Right now it is just not at all worth it.

with nvidia gpus that last two generations have the issue of not having enough V ram to use DLSS and raytrace without running into Vram limits. You basically need an 80 or 90 class card to have enough Vram. With AMD, their upscaling doesnt look as good, and they cant raytrace as well. So you might get more utilization with more vram but it may look worse.

but you can still get good frame rates without the need for fsr, and the game still looks great without raytracing.

dont buy alienware, you can always build a better computer for what they charge.

i think its more that he was trying to hand the relic over to netwatch so they could investigate and find the illegal ai they were working on in Mikoshi, which would force netwatch to stop providing them security and cause other companies to stop working with them.
But with the Relic gone, that path to bring down arasaka is gone. they can always make a new relic and copy a new Johnny onto it. The hunt for Dex, V, and Goro was likely a ruse to give the appearance of Yorinobu finding his father's killers while getting rid of anyone that might know what he did or had a connection to Saburo. the relic really might be irrelevant as long as they think its gone.

i wouldnt mind having the ability to reupgrade maxed out cyberware, but we are also filthy rich and can easily afford to buy a completely different loadout multiple times. It may be a good idea to just hoard cheap cyberware at the beginning of the game before its upgrade level and price scales. And since 2.0 changed rippers so they all have the same inventory (i wish they didnt), its not a huge hassle to find duplicates.

yeah dogtown being its own little content island is a little annoying especially when it has so many weapons locked up in there. And after the 2.0 crafting changes that makes having an iconic almost required. yeah, correcting those 2.0 "fixes" wouldnt hurt. some of the fixes feel like they were trying to appease players that should have been ignored. you basically need to dump 20 attribute points into 1 method of entry in order to keep up with the scaling. And Im sure the gta fans are happy they get to waste 2-3 minutes driving in circles after lightly tapping a car between missions.

Nothing universal, the majority of it is fixes to graphical stuff that depends on your hardware/settings, you don't want to install fixes for path tracing if you don't run it as it will mess with the shadows for RT or even just raster for example

There arent just "new quests and locations", well there are but they are very rudimentary at this point, most of the gameplay modding for the game are changes to gameplay mechanics and adding new or changing existing game systems, the kind of thing that you'll need to tailor for your own tastes

In short you're going to want to play vanilla first because it's very content heavy and is a great game in its vanilla form, you don't need to "fix" it as much as you do vanilla Bethesda games, get a feel for it for a few hours at least and then if you really want to, change the damage scaling to make it less or more spongey and then get UI tweaks, an anon here started a trend of going totally UI-less and a bunch of anons really enjoy playing that way
