I wouldn't say it's p2w at all, but it does give unfair advantages not just to some mechs but to the people who have been playing for a while.

Well, it is rather unfair for people who are just kitting their mech, who haven't played enough to find a VI heavy sniper or have an otherwise very powerful advantage.
Say what you want about Slopnite and battle royales, but at least when you land you have as much chance to succeed as anyone else, as you have the same odds as any other player to get a good weapon.
Personally, I would either add some kind of mechanic to Mashmak that encourages and rewards player cooperation (as in, cooperating with adversaries) or discourages taking advantage of the weak. Maybe give us a quick comm option to send truce signals, and if a player kills another emitting one, then that player is marked and you get a bonus for executing him. Make big bad bosses appear more often and be more aggressive so that competing players have to set differences aside and band together, share the loot and then each go on their way or have an honorable duel with the winner taking it all. This could also increase the variety of player picks for the mode (tanky mechs to draw enemy fire or siege against bosses, healers can trade their healing skills for protection/safe pass, etc.).
As it stands now, it feels a bit underbaked with missing potential and heavily rewarding asshole behavior.

This is why normal exists, hard should be removed because it's a middleground no one plays. I love mak and have been advocating for normal to become entirely pve, but even as it is now it is not p2w in any format. Also you can get flawless mod boxes and T5/T6 weapons in normal. The drop rates are abysmal compared to higher difficulties but they DO drop. Play normal if you are getting shit on people are a lot more chill and just looking for their pve fix. There are balance issues in mak where some suits have little to no viability especially in solo that is a fact, and some modular weapons do way too much damage it is not a perfect mode but it is FUN imo. Don't think there is a SINGLE person here who advocated for mods in verge that is unacceptable and needs to be removed.

I'm on NA where I primarily play squads even solo because I like the restricted zones. I honestly cannot speak on the plight of 24/7 solo players it's probably a hellscape I can't comprehend but there are homies in this general who make it happen. Game mode needs balance changes for sure but if you work with the tools you are given and accumulate experience you can overcome even stellarisniggers with dual splitters. It seems like Seaslug manged to successfully cultivate a playerbase of mouthbreathing inbred retards so half of niggas in queue have pre-picked Stellaris. People say the bots been taking their colors and names based off real players, but I've also noticed that the bots in Mashmak is also using the same modular weapons as players. For example, I never ran into bots using heavy snipers until I started running into players using them.

As a solo player in NA Normal Mashmak, it's about 50/50. The matches with Naru/Aquila snipers or Stellaris mains tend to be over quick, (sub-15 minutes includ8ng matchmaking time), in my experience, because they love to execute. I'm farming points in a Falcon, so we cross paths pretty quick, and I'd rather be in a match without them. Longer matches where I don't die before point A&B drop tend to go well, and I aim for objective extract or E/F extract. Unless I find a gold item, then C/D extract. I will admit to occasionally stealing C/D extracts from other players who are too busy fighting to notice me if I have good loot.

At high level the hurricane buff is only good in a vacuum where he gets it off while the enemy team is training the guy who gets emp'd. It has really niche value and was not the buff he needed to be competitive, inferno being a clone of him but offensively better doesn't help because he can't out tank stego or tricera to claim a spot there either.

Regardless of how much health it has, the Decoy shield blows up after a melee enemy hits it one time, freeing up the enemy team's FCS to shoot Hurricane and co. The enemy melee suffers an insignificant 1.6 second stun which is nothing compared to instantly deleting Hurricane's main tool to divert enemy damage. It also indirectly buffs the melees since Hurricane will run out of shields to parry with quicker.

The slightly higher Blaster damage doesn't make up for the extra second on the reload time, Hurricane ends up doing less damage overall in the long term. In practical use, Hurricane used to be able to indefinitely fire slow charged shots which gave it an effective niche of consistently pelting a capturable point; now it will run out of ammo if it tries to keep up steady suppressing fire.

The "ability" to cast the Field bubble shield on an ally is pissing off Hurricane players especially, now they have to look down at the ground to prevent undesired misplacement of the Shield because any ally is on screen.
All of Hurricane's changes were bad. The 2% pick mech is now a 0% pick.

You can also do both. Gets a bit hefty on inventory especially if you do something like energy weapons, but heavy sniper, then def field + sword probably worth the slots. Just better get used to swapping on the fly and making sure you have the space when you swap off for the ammo to deposit into.

Personally, I like to do solo as I think it's easier to extract in there. Destroy mobs at strongholds for troopships or gen 3 strikers to appear. Medium corite extractors appear over time and typically when you attack one then a troopship or Martet helicopter will appear. These are your main sources of loot and paint.
Bots can often be more deadly than players and know where you are at all times (except when stealthed probably (never played stealth)) but they have weird ai quirks like they slowly just hover towards you or if you go out of range will hover away. When they get low enough they'll also just slowly hover away. And when they do, they may often just float off into the storm and die.
I tend to find nearly no one is left by the final extract except one or two bots.

Also, if you don't got cargo rockets to bring then you can find public ones to use in a match from clearing strongholds, but only a portion of the strongholds have one stowed away and you have 3 minutes to use it once it appears. Be careful as they can be shot down, even while travelling upwards.

For some reason every match I've had over the last two days where the enemy has had a healer has consisted of me being the only person on my team attempting to hit them at all so the entire enemy team becomes insurmountable, whereas in the matches where I play Lumi the entire enemy team is heavily coordinated in ignoring anything that might distract them from raping me to death the instant they spot me.

Pretty difficult, especially Skyraider since often it feels like melee downstrikes won't connect, but so far my best solution to dealing with them outside of terrain and positioning is using a warhammer. Warhammer works great against Luminae, Stellaris, Skyraider and Falcon if you can get the opening for it and by works great I mean pretty much exclusively its right click leap attack. If you can manage it, it should kill them in 2 - 3 leaps. Sometimes I might fail to finish them off and the fly away, which then, I'll swap to a beam cannon to get that last hit (can usually land it because if they're panic fleeing then they're usually low enough on energy for you to get at least one lockon hit). To note, I do end up having to face tank a bunch of damage to get my opening as I have to patiently wait hovering above their loop maneuver for the brief lockon at the end of the loop.
I don't play Skyraider, but I assume he can't do any tricks to prevent the opening at the end of his loops like Falcon can by using deathspiral at any point? If he can, then I have no advice there.

They fumbled so hard by not adding a server wide chat. Game is dead silent when you play alone and because of the fast paced combat you'll rarely encounter someone who types in chat.
Coupled with the amounts of bot matches, I'd reckon that for most players this game is a solitary experience.
Mashmak feels like it could be the closest thing to social gameplay, but because everyone treats it like Verge, ignoring the tactical aspects like using decoys and beacons, it feels just as empty and silent. At least, that's the feeling I'm get after every MM where I'm the only one typing, and that's most of them.

They could have bought more time to add more content had they just, 1. focused on forming a community around and inside the game instead of delegating it to discord and plebbit. World chats are good at this. 2. Add or improve the tutorials to focus more on team play and group strategies, like how and when to use decoys and etc.

I actually liked DMZ having area chat, a lot of fun times were had holed up in a building or passing by others and just shooting the shit or having a tense standoff moment (or teaming up since you could pull up to 3 more people, another groups' worth, into your squad)

I think a good compromise could be bosses specifically hunting after mercs past a certain kill count or something. Right now it's kinda fucked where enemies basically refuse to swap aggro unless they lose LoS or are comically out of range, so jumping into a fight doesn't cause chaos so much as "I sure hope Constantine or a hammer Gen3 don't hitstun me before I pull this fight somewhere else"

The problem is that the head dev is a literal retard who happened to have a good idea, but he can't play his own game so he doesn't understand balance. Without having a fun game people like to play, you can't milk whales who want to stand out with meaningless cosmetics. They probably anticipated some drop-off as people hit higher ranks and started running into actual games, but I don't think they had any clue that the mass player complaints about the dogshit balance were the tip of the iceberg, because 99% of people don't even bother complaining, they just quit, and they don't come back.

At this point they're well into the death spiral, the point at which they should've balance patched the game was 2 weeks after launch, instead they're letting the season run with minor changes, probably because Kris is retarded and went "no we can't change the balance it'll ruin the rankings!", and they kicked the larger balance changes over to season 1. Well, by the time S1 hits, nobody will be playing the game anymore.
