BSG almost struck gold with the hardcore wipe but they lack the knowledge to get it right on the first go and they lack the humility to fix their mistakes.

Maybe a shit take but I thought the map-locking in the first week was super fucking cool too. But they got rid of it so fast that I never even had to interact with it. Would have liked that system to have stuck around for a few more weeks. I've played a few hours here and there since this game released, i never put more time into the game than I have now with the hard core wipe.

I really like the removal of the flee and the focus being on your relations with traders and the hide out.

besides obvious complaints, it really seems like PvP in this game gets in the way of your progression. It seems like the designers do everything in their power to steer you into pvp encounters that serve no purpose other than to get you killed. The pvp can be fun, but spending 20 minutes in a raid for 10 seconds of excitement or worse another 5 minutes in the stash so you can spend another 5 minutes finding a raid... It's rough.

I have this problem too in a way, the minute i sit in queue for my PMC i suddenly start thinking of better things to do.

I really think its the spawns. It just sucks ass building a load out in 5 minutes so you can be stuck sitting in a queue for another 5 to 10 minutes so some freak with 9,000 hours played or some pistol scav hiding behind a trash can send you back to the stash.

Pellet rounds for their AKs, seems to work really well.
I wonder if it should be added to the game, would be useless against armor, but you could probably shred facemasks with full auto fire easily.

What people don't realise about the queue times is they're NOT for matchmaking. They're for waiting for a server to open up. The longest queue times are always at peak player numbers, eg at the very start of a wipe just after the game goes live again. It's not because there aren't players, it's because they're running JUST enough servers to accommodate everyone so long as you wait for one to open up.

I’ve come up with what needs to be done with PvE to make Tarkov GREAT AGAIN. We need a serious nerf, and here’s how:

1. All traders are locked at level 2.
2. All loot available from traders at levels 3-4 is REMOVED from the loot pool on maps. That means no looting SPEAR or Val, only Kedr.
3. Quests are locked to those you can take at level 20 or below.
4. Overall spawn of valuable loot is heavily reduced—no more GPUs for you.
5. Keep ONLY Reshala as a boss.

For me the biggest issues with the game (even during the previous wipe) that became even worse are

I don't know about the recent rumors but I have seen a genuine primitive bot in Arena before, either last wipe or the one before. It would walk around and react when shot and fire back, although it couldn't really hit anything and didn't manage to get a single kill the whole game. The shoreline itself is jam packed with people looking over the rocks ready to snipe any scav or PMC dumb enough to think they can venture onto the road thinking they can loot scav island or the pier. The resort itself draws most every one else towards, so they can then have hall way fights while peaking from door ways. Then there are the people who go looking for Sanitar in the village, which I've never found any loot in there worth a fuck, but people still rat it.

I dont think I've spent any amount of time in the actual resort, its just not worth fighting giga chads over loose loot spawns.

The RPM on LMGs is awful, but you can full auto for days with almost no recoil and big boolet. They're for rapid fire sniping basically, great with a scope or just a red dot and you're never caught reloading unless you go full retard. In CQC a red dot, prefiring every corner and either being really good with a laser or never coming out of ADS kinda feels like being a moving turret.
The amount of practice to become proficient in using them requires playing Arena though, you'd never get anywhere without it

The spawns are shit, player movement and quest locations result in a total pvp cluster fuck, and there is so much debri and bullshit on the map that you will get ratted and lit up by scavs more times than you care to count.

Tarkov isn't a game where you're trying to be hungry for kills all the time, there isn't a leaderboard at the end of the match showing who got he most kills lol. The hardcore concept had potential. With out a Flea market every other in game asset matters. And what you could recovered from a raid absolutely mattered. You would plan raids around the gear you had and the future raids you hoped to have. There is a loop here where player actions directly influence the subsequent events and outcomes, creating a dynamic and engaging experience.

But it’s still built on bad fundamentals. At the end of the day, it’s just:

The penalty for failure is far greater than the rewards are for success. So where does that leave us now?

Oh yeah I know I once heard for at least 15 minutes of a raid on shoreline some scav or pmc just shooting the same spot over and over again somewhere along the road from resort. My bet was a scav was in the boat, and a pm saw them from the road or vice versa and just started shooting at them. Yet they kept hitting cover or something so they just kept plinking a wall for the entire raid. The only time the bots are even slightly difficult is sometimes on factory, and even then they fucking bug out and push their guns against walls so often its hilariously bad.

On PVE shoreline I have encountered 3 spots where I can almost guarantee PMCs. Scav Farm 100% always has a squad in it. Weather Station is WW3 nearly every game. Village can be a shitshow at the start. Funnily enough, I rarely run into PMC bots at resort.

I don't see why you wouldn't just go play STALKER instead if you want PvE Tarkov. Removing player interaction sucks out all of the soul from Tarkov.

Great wipe but I have been looking for an electric drill for 2 weeks and I literally have done probably 40 or 50 scav raids over that time with 0 luck and I could probably literally build every next level of my hideout once I get one because I have 6 scav cases full of hideout stuff but only 3 edrills.
