Upgrade your tools, trust me you're not going to like tilling all of that farming area come spring, at least get to a iridium pick and gold, maybe iridium axe and hoe. Also work on clearing out the debris from your farm and getting some iridium sprinklers to plan your layout around them, with the amount of lightning rods you have, you should have more than enough batteries to craft them.

With that many quality ones I guess it isn't really necessary to go for iridium right now since you'd need like 10 iridium to surpass that many, but I would recommend you at least work towards them in the next year, since iridium gets the most benefit from an upgrade later on and is more area-efficient. Definitely get the tools upgraded though. Also remember to check your cave if you picked fruit bats, it sometimes has tree fruit.

Depends on how far in the game I am. Year 1 winter is all about upgrading tools and rearranging the farm into a more aesthetic / efficient layout, since I typically just slap down crops and buildings wherever because I know I'm going to change it later on, and that's what Winter 1 is for. Year 2 beyond I have other things to occupy my time. Once I get the catalogues for furniture and wallpaper / flooring I often spend a few days in winter decorating my house and farm.

Skull caverns requires heavy investment, you won't get much out of it if you're only making it down to the first 20 or so floors. You need to penetrate floor 50+ to make it a really worthwhile run, and that requires luckmaxxing and hoarding bombs and staircases. The deeper you go in the skull caverns the more likely rare spawns show up. By level 50+ you will be reliably finding iridium ore almost every floor. If you're still trying to reach floor 100 though, you just gonna tunnel vision on reaching the bottom. While it might seem counter intuitive skull caverns isn't something you "practice" at, you bide your time waiting for a lucky day while having a huge stockpile of bombs, lucky foods, and staircases to make your big push. The yield from that one lucky day to level 50+ will easily yield more iridium than 10+ days where you never reach level 30.

Fishing can get monotonous in year 1, but it's still a reliable way to earn a few thousand coins per day. I usually reserve it for if I have nothing else productive I can do.

An iridium sprinkler waters 3x as many crops as a quality sprinkler. 10 iridium sprinklers will do the job of 30 quality sprinklers, and make more efficient use of the tillable soil. They're also fantastic to have in the greenhouse because of how limited planting space is, though you don't have a greenhouse just yet.

Ah, you probably don't know this, but Krobus in the sewer (assuming you have the sewer key and have been down there) has in his rotating stock 1 iridium sprinkler for sale on Fridays, and it refreshes each week. It costs 10,000g though, so it's one thing to spend your fishing money on each week. You can gradually stock up on iridium sprinklers without having to build them yourself, saving your iridium for tool upgrades and other things.

Walking doesn't expend any energy, your character gets tired from working on the farm, or mining in caves. Using most of your tools will deplete energy, as will planting, watering, and harvesting crops. You can restore energy with food items, many of which also give you stat buffs though it will take some time before you have reliable access to better food items.

Managing your energy so you can do things off the farm is part of the early game challenge in Stardew Valley, but the game is all about reducing the amount of labor you have to do on your farm. Eventually you will be leaving the farm with a full energy bar most days.

They even wait a little gathering in the entrance before everyone go in, with plenty of time to stay over there. Tho is true, doing that, they can't do anything else that day. Food is the best to restore energy of course. But if you want a sauna, there are mods what add saunas to the farm cave or the basement, or even one recently, a pool you can build and place anywhere in the farm map.

Planning is a good way to suck all the fun out of this game. There's no real penalty for messing up, it just takes longer to reach milestones. What most people do is stumble around on their first farm making mistakes, then once they feel like they know what they did wrong, restart and try for real on the second farm, looking stuff up on the wiki as needed.

I placed the barns there to take advantage to the grass field, but now it feels needlessly out of the way. The lone coop at the top was the first one. having them separate is taking its toll.
that tree tap and shroom stump cluster is way too close for something that only needs checking every once a week or so and is taking prime real estate close to my house.
I don't know what I'm doing with the beehives, fruit tree and furnaces either. No clue how to organize them or where to place them. Right now the feel like they're in the way in between the road from the house to the barns

Junimo huts would be the next big step in automating your farm. They're small buildings you can put on your farm that will have junimos collect surrounding crops for you automatically. You just pick them up from the hut. You get them from the wizard tower, after finishing a questline that unlocks after finishing the community center that also unlocks the Witch's Swamp area for you. If you haven't done that yet, go up to the train station to trigger it. Once you have the huts you can run a plantation with junimo slaves.

Most people don't go very hard into animals so all the cheese / mayo machines will easily fit into one shed, then you just have to remember to check one building for all your processed animal goods later.

The real moneymaker with farming is turning fruit into wine. You can do this on a large scale once you have enough kegs, using the greenhouse to produce whatever fruit you want year-round and a large shed with 130+ kegs in it, the yield is pretty huge even if you don't go for the priciest wines like ancient fruit and star fruit.

That's fair, on your first play through it can be a bit overwhelming how much stuff there is. That's one reason why I mono crop inside the greenhouse. Something like Star Fruit or Ancient Fruit are great for low-maintenance greenhouse crops because they are slow-growing and very profitable especially if you turn them into wine. Ancient Fruit in particular is great because it doesn't have to be replanted.

Rancher and being above 4.5 hearts drop sheep production times down to a day, sheep can produce wool on rainy days, higher quality wool has a chance to give double cloth and animal crackers cause sheep to produce twice as much wool (pigs can't use animal crackers), this ends up making sheep more profitable than pigs, especially since you still have to turn truffles into truffle oil to maximize profit (artisan makes truffle oil worth more than iridium truffles), and unlike truffles, wool gets collected by the auto grabber. Most people only bother with Star Fruit or Ancient Fruit. A full big shed's worth of kegs can yield over a quarter million gold in a single batch of either star fruit or ancient fruit wine. The extra step beyond that is to age the wine in casks, but honestly it takes way too long and doesn't add enough value to be worth it. The other bonus to Star Fruit and Ancient Fruit is that they are very slow-growing plants so you won't be doing a lot of active maintenance on your greenhouse provided you have sprinklers set up.

The main advantage to star fruit is that, provided you have the funds, you can jump straight into mono cropping it in huge numbers. It does require you to sink some profits back into seeds and you have to replant, though. Ancient Fruit takes a long time to build up because you have to make your own seeds from the first several harvests. You usually start with a single plant and have to painstakingly expand that to dozens of plants with seed makers, but once you have a greenhouse full of ancient fruit they will produce forever, 1 fruit every 7 days. If you can get the harvest sync'd up with your kegs it means you're only really busy with wine 1 day a week, or 4 days out of every season.

You build a fisher hut and put workers on it. They catch all of the fish in nets instead of taking them out one at a time like other resources. This means they're a time investment but will end up netting a ton more produce. You can use bait, which is made from packs of crops, to double the yeild of each individual catch. So you can end up with an insane amount of produce. Personally, I tend to just take the small ponds without bait and get the large ponds only with bait. There are times I get around fish out of a single pond. You need a proper fishing hut to go after the large ones, though. Also, there are 3 different types of ponds: fish, scales, and algae. Each has it's own set of secondary resources, too, of course. I also try to keep the final few charges in the pond where I can and use them as decorations

This is a complete meme and only works for blue grass. Regular grass starters propagate too slowly, even with lightning rods any sizable amount of animals will chomp through the grass so fast it'll make absolutely zero difference.

which leads me to a crossroads: Should I keep going, do another row then leave a tiny 2-tile row for coffee? Would 96 Ancient Fruit plants be overkill? Congrats, earning the statue is a reward for hitting a required farm rating, which basically means progressing in various ways in the game. It's actually possible not to pass grandpa's review of your farm, but you can always summon him back with a diamond at his shrine when you're ready for a redo.
