I'm back to emerald after a bad streak trying to make it to AA, it took around 20 games playing tempo forest to pass the trials. I'm thinking I need to switch it up:

>Ward Haven

These seem like the "best" options since Forest/Haven are my favorite, with that being said after all the losses yesterday I'm kind of burned out on forest. Some other options:

>Sword: I used to play sword in SV1 and don't particularly hate it
>Abyss: I don't have a single game on abyss, I was never interested in it but I may like it who knows
>Portal: Zero interest in artifacts, puppets may be cool, never played it
>Dragon: I have 44 wins as dragon, I do like face but I think it's a bad idea to play this currently
>Rune: I played a Karyl deck in SV1 and started out on rune in SV2 and haven't touched it since

I even spoke to some higher level players about tempo forest and they basically said "yeah it's a good deck but it's not something I would ever play when so many other better options exist". My goal is to make it to sapphire or at least back to ruby at this point. I've done it with both ward and tempo a few times but as of late it seems so so much harder to win especially with tempo, maybe yesterday was a bad day? I really love SV but damn the losses are starting to get to me even with trying to play with the mindset of improving and not to just win.

so... decks with good bronze/silver pool will just win for free? isn't artifact puppet not even remotely balanced for this, literally half of their bronze pool is amazing and work will with the neutral bronzes

I genuinely don't even think sword will be that good, but they will probably be slightly above average considering their playstyle and overstatted card nature. a majority of sword's really really good cards are gold+ and you just wont get access to them. Their bronze cards are 'ok' and they're happy to take all the good neutrals but their silver pool is actually pretty bad all things considered, although mid cards like band of battle princess will actually become good, and even crown might see play as an above average pick

the problem isn't the artifact cards it's the portal bronzes & silvers. they heavily control the board early and are proven to work great with neutrals like indomitable fighter. the artifact cards themselves also doesn't need to be in high quantity, in draft formats, getting resources 'for free' and just raw playing a 5/1 rush or 1/5 ward can be incredibly powerful, much less the bigger artifacts

haven is very specific, if you're playing ward haven you mulligan completely different things when going first/second in the same matchup. E.g. for sword if you go first you need dose + salefa to clean clear zirconia, but if you're going second you want wilbert grim. You also need to know when not to play a 2/2 on turn 2sp because it'll leave you without an evo play on turn 4, a very common situation is having a bellringer and no wilbert so you need to dig with her on 4

What you should actually do for Take Two is see which 2 legendaries are offered for each class and then pick whichever has the best combo. A card like Amalia can singlehandedly win a game by herself, if she comes with Yurius or Gildaria then obviously you're picking Sword. If you see Satan with another powerful legendary then you should probably pick that.

It's an ongoing process I'm afraid, after ~180 *(rough estimate) wins I'm still learning new patterns and when to apply them. My tips: get familiar with the combo, the setup, some quick math (2x + 3, where x is the number of combo before playing two roaches, plus other extra damage sources like cairn, sevo +1; minus 1 if you use carbuncle to bounce roach). Watching some good roach players can help as well

How do we fix Dragon Ramp? What cards could come in that would help me ramp out Fennie faster? I feel like Fennie being at 8 is rough because by that point people are throwing out a threat that MUST be answered every turn. Basically the only way to win is to hit every dragonsign from turn 3-6, pray you dont draw your high end followers before dropping Fennie. Even if all those circumstances are met if you dont havent escaped basically unscathed by turn 5-6 you still have no guarantee you wont get albert'd or Odin'd.

As a filthy Runenigger myself, if I'm playing Norman at all, something has gone horribly wrong. It's such a loss of tempo and there often isn't a safe time to do it. Either I've taken too much damage early so I need to heal up, or I haven't drawn what I need yet so I need to draw 3. Sagelight is a far better heal at half the cost and it spellboosts, and draw cards exist for much cheaper (and also spellboost). The barrier golem would be nice but Odin exists. I still run 2 Normans in my deck but it's a niche the niche being "I'm getting fucking bullied hard, hopefully this will buy me enough time to luckshit my way to a win". Sometimes it works, most of the times I wasn't going to win that game anyways. The evo fanfare again is nice but again Norman is a niche card and the niche is "I'm in trouble". Either I've spent my evo points on Bergent or more likely, Anne and Grea clearing board or that's Super Evo points I'm not going to have later for Kuon/Satan. And if I have Evo points to spare by turn 6, then again it probably means I'm losing because I didn't draw Berg or Anne/Grea somehow. That or I'm playing Haven or another Rune mirror.

Supposedly weaker classes get more redraws. Depending on how that goes it might be possible to redraw into Dirt for Rune, or to toss Forest's high-synergy cards for some of the blatant T2 bait they have in bronze and silver.

Sword will still be the best class but I don't think the mode will be unplayable unless you insist on using Portal (so synergy dependent even redraws will still brick) or Haven (worst bronzes by far).

i dropped 2 groups while learning the deck then i got back to diamond with a huge winstreak,
i didnt like that all games feel really close feels like dancing in the edge of the knife, and something that can be a pro or a con is that there isnt much you can take from each game when you lose you know that it was for your own fault, what your oponent does isnt as important, i dont like that it feels a little like a single player puzzle

I made a list of the good bronze/silver cards to draft take two for each class., and from what I can see Dragon is the best, and Haven is the worst. Dragon will dominate take two, not by Orcas, as those are defensive options. It's Vastwing Dragons. Intimidate is very hard to answer in take two, and Dragon has like 4 bronze/silver cards that generate Vastwing Dragon. Also, Dragon has the best low rarity board clear at just bronze rarity 6pp for 5 damage AoE. And lastly, Dragon has the best distributiion of low cost and high cost low rarity cards. Portal, for example, has a lot of good low cost cards, but very little at the high end, and struggles with board clear. The 2 that surprised me the most were Rune and Forest, they have a lot more good cards for take two than you'd think. Sword is hard carried by golds, and will live and die by whether they get Gildaria and Amalia. If they get multiple of each they're tier 0, if they get none, they're tier 3, so prepare to rage at getting high rolled by swordjeets.
