Rewatching BoC and dumping a thought (ending 36)
The scene where Taku and Gaku find the plants feels like a weird callback to route 0, in a way. Gaku tries to be pragmatic, that they should collect all the herbs because the planet will die anyways. Takumi can't really get his thoughts in order as to why he wants to leave some untouched; in the end, he says it could call divine punishment on them, but you can tell he just feels sentimental. And Gaku ends up relenting, and his final line of the scene shows he feels the same way. Like in Gaku's persuasion event where Takumi has to convince Gaku not to force himself to think about his siblings just on what they can or can't offer

In the perspective of everyone bar Nozomer-G, the leader randomly pulls a 180 and agrees with the resident schizo about a ghost being the cause of a string of serial murders and begin to blast music everywhere, make the school smell like shit, and start chanting for three days and nights. Maybe shouldn't have wished death on them but the resentment was warranted.
However I think these sort of completely retarded circumstances is what it takes for Takumi to get closer to Gaku. In nearly every other route they're just comrades at best. While Gaku opened up to Takumi in BoB, it was a nearly completely one-sided closeness. Gaku mostly just talks at Takumi, and in his head he still shittalks Gaku. In BoC it's a two-way streak, Takumi agrees with Gaku and they meet in the middle throughout the branch - because they only had each other

Getting 2nd scenario after SF I feel takes away from it, 2nd is better as an early one but I’ve seen people like rubbing against the maze walls doing everything on the way to the other side from the kill routes and I don’t think 2nd is the best as a finale.
