I'm interested in seeing how far they'll take the Starry Stage thing, if the implication is that you're going to go into new areas unexplored in these prexisting levels then that's marginally better than a simple 1:1 recreation of a stage with crystal assets plopped down. I hope there's a Starry Stage that lets us explore the laboratories and offices of Lab Discovera. I really hope it's not as simple as just a little pathway detour and an actual different stage. The Underwater Seafloor looking level definitely looks promising.
I'm a little disappointed by the Mouthful Mode abilities, I don't know why but they just seem kind of bland and like they could've been done with preexisting copy abilities. This is also a severe nitpick but the fact that none of the Mouthful Mode abilities have nothing to do with the Switch 2 features kind of ticks me off something fierce.

i'm a little bummed by the stages being for the most part the normal stages but if the starry gimmick changes them drastically then it's fine, do wonder what the deal with the heart is and this game getting it's own soul melter EX will be fun even if aside from bosses not being randomized soul melter is probably the best true arena just because of star allies having so many characters.

NTA but my best guess is the shader soup going on with the core theme being too much with how the game already performs on the original Switch? You've got stuff like the Star layer being applied in real time over the existing map, which adds an outline shader to most models within it, as well as the aura effect around its edges using quite a few particle effects, on top of the reflections (which I'm not entirely sure how prebaked they are or not? But they do seem fairly high resolution so I imagine that adds onto the processing load), along with that reactive effect Kirby has when exiting the "area" affected by a meteor... It's smaller things but tech-wise it adds up faster than you'd think, and the base game (which didn't use nearly as much of these kinds of effects) already was locked to 30 on Switch 1, probably would start running into some issues. I think HAL still uses a propietary engine for Kirby for the most part, but they do use Unity to a degree for actual level building, so I wonder if that plays a part in it at all.

Well, Summer Collab is canned due to me being a procrastinating fuck for the most part, very sorry about that, but I'm definitely drawing up a Star Crossed World collab before it comes out. I'll use the Forgotten Land one as a base since... it's only fitting, and I do like how the money shot I took as a base looks with the Star Crossed effect on it. Easy gimmick for it would definitely be just "come up with Crystal forms for your characters" but another could be characters reacting for it. Maybe a rerun of the FL gimmick itself fused with those? As usual, nothing'll be "imposed" but would be neat seeing people come together under the 1 theme. Hope I'll have this ready sooner than later...

If it's a solid DLC/expansion, that's fine, but 30 bucks in leafland is nothing to sneeze at, and it better have some meat to it.

If it changes up the main game enough and has a bit more challenge to it (and if it includes its own post-game stuff or anything akin to that like the original did) I'll probably nab it. Getting to see it in 60 FPS and updated visuals is going to be a treat though.

It has new minigames, team mode, the camera support, the Jamboree TV mode with its own camera n mic minigames, and that rollercoaster mode with different bossfights iirc. Base game had 7 modes (counting the main board game and minigame player modes), so you're getting about 2-3 of those smaller modes' worth with the upgrade beyond the graphics bump. Make of that what you will.

Same here, it's probably one of the more exciting prospects of the whole "go on paths away from the main level" idea, Lab Discovera did feel like a tease in the main game for the most part, given what little we could see in the Leon and Forgo fights

I recently purchased a doujin that followed Dedede during Forgotten Land and going full Cast Away with a rock he paints to look like Kirby? Does that count? Otherwise, I second >>533959610, NAKC is pretty funny I like it because it's the closest I'll ever get to seeing a tamersverse version of Kirby and there's also KRBAY Encore which is decent but it's in that awkward amount of pages where there's not quite enough pages to complete an arc but enough to get you hooked. Whenever I'm itching for Kirby fanmedia I usually just go to DeviantArt for that sort of thing, there's a lot of comics there.

2026, but they may break the spring pattern and do a summer or fall release since Air Riders will release close to the end of the year. HAL put out job applications to help with this game back in January 2024 so it’s been in the works for a while. It wasn’t for Air Riders either since HAL wasn’t the primary studio for that game.

Magolor Epilogue honestly could’ve been better, I felt it was a bit short. The level design and stages were good but considering it was the selling point of the game it shouldn’t have taken less than 2 hours to complete. Forgo Dreams length would’ve been better, that took me around 3 hours.

I hope we finally get the Soul Forgo fight in Star Crossed World, missed opportunity to have it be a fakeout before Morpho. The fight does exist too or some variation of it, it was in the game files.
