Perfect parry into cr.mp or invincible move. It sounds easier said than done but usually the fireball is the slowest version which gives you a lot of time to react. Perfect parrying fireballs is one of my training drills.

What makes MenaRD special as a player?
He always seems to win and (more importantly) with a character nobody else in tournaments seem to use.
I see so many other characters in pic related being used a ton like Cammy, Ed and Mai. So I'm assuming they're top tier characters, but only MenaRD uses Blanka.

this isn't actually true. Mena is a very inconsistent player. His SFV Capcom Cup wins were very far apart and he spent a few years not achieving anything after his initial win, then at the end of SFV he won again
In SF6, he won both EVO Japans and had a very solid first year, but inbetween those EVO Japan years he didn't really win anything and would often fail to make top 8, sometimes failing to make top 32
He's obviously very good, but he's more a clutch factor player than a consistently good one

I had someone tell me Dee-Jay is easy to master because I can literally just Heavy Air Slash to Master. Yeah, sure, try that and get back to me -- everyone reacts to it easily. Not just reads, but flat out reacts and jumps in to punish even if you throw one per match.
Another person told me Dee Jay drive rush into jab, grab works most of the time below master. No the fuck it doesn't, somehow low diamonds/high plats are already wise to it, and will easily tech it most of the time.

Everything people say about the sub-Master ranks seems to not be true with the people I play most of the time.
I guess that's the other problem. Some days I play people and wonder how the fuck they survive at the same rank as the better players the matchmaking sets me against multiple matches in a row.

I am completely new to fighting games and I am trying to learn how to do motion inputs consistently. I find myself in matches having an okay understanding of fundamentals but choking and button mashing mid combos to try and get off a motion input special. In my case I play around the 1800-1900 range and my problem with DI is that it stops everything else in the match and forces you to address it or you'll be taking 40-60% damage and potentially lose the match. Dix is a very volatile and aggressive game already and in high level you're thinking about meter management, spacing, punishing stuff, neutch etc. The wall splat happens from like 1/4 of the screen too if you don't react to it. I wish the combos off of DI had like 50% of their damage removed or did a little less push back. It should be more of a tool to kill and punish burnout imo

The fact that some characters have most of their normals being DI-cancellable while others having only 1 or 2 buttons (like DJ with low mp) is a problem too. Watching Xian and Fuudo die to random Kim/Ken DIs in tournaments is so fucking sad

For combos, take your time and avoid mashing it out, you have way more time than you think you do. For motion inputs, just go into training mode and practice doing fireballs or dps ten times in a row on both sides of the screen without any mistakes.

Anyway, I dont care that much about streamers. And I dont think T1 is a good player.
But to say he didnt progressively get better on his climb up the ranks is false.

Who cares. All these people play the game at least 8 hours a day. It's insane they can't figure out the gameplan of a kid, there's no excuse. How were a professional player with +15 years of experience lose to a dude who doesn't even have access to the coaches that the experienced player has?

It's like they just perfect their matchups between one and other (in regards to the veterans) they don't practice the game to optimize their gameplay in general, they just learn the patterns of other top pro players, and when a nobody joins they suddenly don't know what to do . Same shit happened with blaz.

What makes leverless/stick cheaper in the long run is the fact that these dogshit pads WILL break and you WILL be buying replacements on a regular basis if you actually play fighting games which is quite rough on the dpad. Doesn't matter how careful you are with them. They'll break. It's easily worth getting a stick for 150-200 bucks. It will essentially never break and if it does it's usually a super easy and cheap fix.
