Things like these is why I think the first 3 seasons of AVGN should be a must watch for videogame developers. Sure anon, 2 isn't the peak for Megaman, it may not even rank at the top 10 but it established the basics of level design and guiding the player alongside Mario Bros at a time where most bad videogames were bad because nobody even understood how to design a videogame. He doesn't really see them as victims. Desna was just a raving loon, even though she turned out to be correct about GV being a threat to the world.

He wasn't sympathetic when he learned about Zonda's backstory, either. His reaction was like "so what, you think that justifies your behavior." He taunted Zonda as she died and didn't feel much about her crying out for Tenjian. Finished a replay of SotD since it's now (not really) complete. The game does feel overall more polished. Lots of little tweaks like ice bombs/seeds detonating on contact with water now, or those endgame berserk demons no longer having the stats of an intro stage enemy. Plus a few new remixes where tracks were previously being reused.
There's also been a lot of rebalancing for weapons. The slow/high-cost weapons have much higher base attack, the weaker passives have been buffed, and there's new relics that support just about any playstyle. Even lanterns are somewhat useful in combat now. Played the arena with some slow weapons and it wasn't CBT anymore.

Game is still obviously unfinished, especially towards the end, but this is about as salvaged as it can be.

The dragon saviors were only bad because of the dragon radiation. It's heavily implied that adepts get kooky under the effects of armed phenomena as well, more so in GV3 than past games (it's outright stated by Nova in the drama CDs though).

GV2:
Zonda is one of the most compassionate characters in Gunvolt. This leads her to trying to topple the non-adepts to end the persecution and culling of adepts. Desna is also very kind to both adepts and non-adepts, and tried to spare Copen in his route. Most of Eden were okay kids and were radicalized against non-adepts by the heinous shit they'd do to them. They're victims too.

GV1:
Stratos was a nice guy before being experimented on. Elise refused to kill people, despite the researchers torturing her, and had to be mindbroken into it. Even Nova is an okay guy, given his circumstances, outside of his interactions with Gunvolt.

Most of the time, when adepts are fucked up, it's other people who fucked them up, and they take way more abuse than most people would take IRL to get them to that point.
