Whatevber happened to VRchat general?

I recently got a Valve Index, which is my first proper VR headset and gave VRChat a go, only to find that my camera is immensely jittery. My FPS is a pretty solid 60 and while below the refresh rate of my headset I find it weird that it would result in such an effect, though that's all I can find online.
Is this a common issue? Everything else I've tried has been smooth as. And if it's any clue, sometimes it'll bug out and just start displaying exclusively on my monitor when changing worlds.

Looking at boorus, another thing I've noticed is that those characters tend to have very, uh, hairy eyelashes, as opposed to having them drawn as a solid line. Maybe more thorns and spikes would help with getting closer to the idea. Also saw one or two examples of eyelashes with significantly darker color than hair, but still tinted in the similar direction, but I think that only works for very flat drawings.

I have an Index, but I've ordered BSB2 and I hope it'll replace the old thing. I don't really need to go for frames no matter what, but 75hz sounds kinda pathetic while 90hz is perfectly acceptable. I've been using 90hz mode without complaints for certain badly optimized vidya like WRC, it really helps when you can hold 90hz without reprojection because switch between full and half framerate is horribly painful in vidya when you're driving. Of course 120+ feels smoother, but 90 is alright.

There's insane issues with their texture streaming systems. The level design is aggressively mediocre where you basically just move linearly and unlock a shortcut along the way.
Combat is a damn joke and you can clobber anything by waggling your weapons like drumsticks, drain monster stamina so they ragdoll constantly and faceroll the game.
Magic is really poor. You're limited to 1 spell per staff types and a stronger version of the spell later on.
Look I went on with high hopes and even waited until it was out of early access and I still feel like I got scammed out of 5 bucks.

Just to be transparent the one on the left in those two is the default setup that comes with that Cyant avatar using Poiyomi shader.
I'm using the exact same textures that came with the avatar but I'm using some of the textures in different features and when I use the same type of features that have complimentary parameters I'm setting them differently.

Non VR-fag here. Why is it so fucking hard to get into VR? I finally got some money and was thinking to go easy with a quest 3. Reviews fucking all over the place:

Tracking depends on environment and will suck if you're playing in a particular dark room.

As for the VR cinema experience, quest 3 default comfort is a bit on the low side but most people for extended use get a custom headband thing for comfortmaxxing. As for screen door effect the quest 3 is easily high enough resolution to not matter.

Elite dangerous in VR sucks though, and if you're getting it just to watch VR cinema then you're gonna be disappointed. Most people here watch movies in VRChat with their friends and while technically impressive, it loses its charm after the first couple times and they stay for the social aspect.

The zucc headsets all have a return policy which you can put the thing through its paces. Which is worth doing anyway because the VR experience is impossible to translate into text/video. For better or worse; like there's a chance you'll really like it, but also a chance you're a motionlet and get sick.

The expensive VR headsets are only worth it if you're committed to the hobby already (or really can't be zucced, which is fair).

It works quite well on Quest 3 with virtual desktop in my opinion. Hold the menu button and if you have the environment set to passthrough you'll see your IRL room with your floating monitor displays. Passthrough quality still needs to improve for complex tasks and reading comfort but it's good enough for most of the reasons I was taking off the headset or peeking through the nose gap with prior headsets.

I rarely use facial interfaces. I feel like it gets too hot too fast, even in AC rooms. PSVR2 has these sort of built-in blinders, so even when you take off the interface, it's the best of both worlds.
