You can use "legitimately" DLC by going into the About.xml file in the DLC folders and deleting the steamappid line. You don't need to use local mods or anything, just keep using the workshop and it'll work as if you have the DLC legitimately.

It's simple, they're going to be biased to walking on faster terrain (solid ground as opposed to riverwater), so they're going up the beach, across a short span of riverwater, and onto the "pier" with the turrets. You'd need to wall off the entire beach area, and funnel them through a chokepoint in the middle of the river.

Depending on how you specifically wall them off, they might decide to go for one of the turret emplacements (yellow arrows), but it'll be more of a slog for them to wade through water while under fire.

I made a really inefficient base just so it could have three hot spring rooms. All the storage and benches and farms are all outside of the main base by a distance, so it takes people hours to go from harvesting to eating just because of the walk. I might have to re-evaluate some things.

Some xenotypes are more equal than others. Pig raiders, in my experience, lose most fights with other factions unless they overwhelm them through sheer numbers or catch them already injured
