Destiny puts out a $60 DLC or $40 expansion with what is essentially an introductory 5 chapters of a 25 chapter book as a campaign, then the chapters 12 and 15 are the raid, 5-10, 11, 13, 14 are all lorebooks and the rest are seasonal content that happen later in the year. Except we might get a whole new chapter 1 of some other book in that year instead of chapter 20 and we might get chapter 45 of the 100 chapter book they started 2 years ago in that year as well.
It has consistently failed with near every expansion to tell a single basic story that did not have any complications and felt like it had an ending that securely changed the direction and meaning of the story.

The ONLY expansion that did was The Taken King, since you defeat Oryx, and it's been the most concrete thing that was backed up via the raid. The full stop, there was nothing more with Oryx. He was done.
Forsaken? It's had its parts kinda diluted over time. Shadowkeep? Its vague and suffers the 5 chapters problem (its even less than 5 chapters). Beyond Light? Prime 5 chapters issue. Witch Queen? Again, same as before. Lightfall? Schizophrenia. Final Shape? It gets away with it, barely. Almost.

The Nine have been mentioned since D1 week 1, their content sunset massively too not to mention.
Like, it was Forsaken content that's not in the game anymore, that's a long time back, a good amount of players were never around for Joker's Wild.

Lodi's stuff is fine in Edge of Fate, Ikora's stuff is relatively fine, its just the overarching Nine stuff that's again another 5 or so chapters of the "nine book" that's not been touched in literally 5 years or so. And god knows whenever we're going to get more of the book, because Renegades doesn't even remotely look similar to Edge of Fate or have anything to do with the Nine.
