Astra has 3cd with slaying, so for the first hit you need either 1 precharge and 2 jump or 3 jumps. Jumps are common enough for it to not be a problem, new Morgan refine has it, Plumeria has one, Lyn has one.
Then I guess you need to take a counterattack, not die, and have a tempo skill. 3 goes to 2, C skill activates, and you drop another Astra. But then you can't use Lyn because she also gives Desperation. Damn

She already gets 10 HP of post-combat healing. Mine has 42 HP (max DF, +1, +Spd), so she'll always have at least 11 HP which is just above 25%. She technically wants to be right here since she gets bonus damage for every point of damage that gets reduced, so I don't think she's really clamoring for Flare or BoL if she wants her max damage output.
Astra is good since it's pretty much the only counter to flat damage reduction.

No because it has shittier map and enemy design. It's a bit more tedious to play then FE7. FE7 also is more balanced difficulty-wise. It isn't as lopsided as FE6 where you either have maps full of axe bandits who can't hit anything or swarms of wyverns and paladins, or as braindead easy as FE8. And Hector Hard Mode which unlocks later is decent challenge for beginner.
Good choice on starting with FE games. They are peak aesthetics, comfy and with emulators you can play them even on phone.
Older games like FE4 or 5 are nice but tedious without modern QoL, and more modern are mixed bag in all aspects.
