Why does this thing get to be as common as a hulk while having 2.5x the health on their "weakspot" that you can't hit past 20meters from the ragdoll machine. Since almost no one actually goes for that they hit the legs with 5x the health.
Was this thing purpose built to destroy the viability of AP4 supports? It takes 5 hits on the "weakspot" for both AC and AMR and 9-10 respectively to the leg. The only half-way decent AP4 is the HMG which takes 40 shots to the leg.
All of the extra time it gets to be alive it spends ragdolling you. It doesn't even kill you directly most of the time. I die more to Hulk Bruisers since they actually aim at you. Why does this matter? I want this thing gone as soon as possible and the best way to do that is rockets.
Three of these fuckers drain 15-30 ammo from an AMR assuming you don't miss once from skill issue or ragdolling. They are an extreme ammo sink using any AP4, even when hitting their "weakspot".

For removing/softening heavies? Yes and no. Kind of. Strafing needs a perfect hit to destroy an ap5 target in one run and rocket pods are still too weak for comfort imo. They also don't always target what they should. Honestly the best cheat code you can get for an ap4 build is EAT. Bring it alongside AC, HMG, AMR etc, call down EAT as needed, remove your quota of heavies with it, pick up your regular support weapon afterwards, then mop up leftovers with weak point shots. Once you're used to juggling supports it's a foolproof strategy.

Why do you think the most effective irl man-portable anti-tank weapons are all top-attack munitions? Because tanks have lots of armour that is specifically designed to protect against the kinds of warheads man-portable anti-tank uses, so man-portable anti-tank has to specifically target the thinnest and least protected part of the tank. you can't just shoot a tank anywhere with a 84mm carl gustav non-tandem HEAT shell and get a kill like you can with the recoilless in game. And even if you do penetrate the armour unless you cause an ammunition cookoff you're not blowing up the tank. You'll wound or kill a few crew members or disable the tanks ability to carry out its mission, but you're not getting the kind of instant catastrophic detonation you get in game by clipping the track guard. You're trying to appeal to real life when real life disagrees with you. The recoilless is the absolute definition of a noobtube.

Ya know. If might suck a bit at a few spots but if you have not done it yet. Highly recommend the autism maxing 25/25 every primary route. I've only done 7 of them so far since i came back but it has gotten me to really sit down and rethink how I feel about each weapon. Until you force yourself to use it and for a good long while with different stratagems and enemies and most importantly comparing it to every other weapon. You cannot appreciate all the little nuisances and benefits/weaknesses. It can't hurt anything and will add a bit of spice to life if you're getting bored. Upside is you might find you like a new weapon a hell of a lot more then you thought you would and you will be an absolute paragon of knowledge when it comes to primaries.

Either rely on a teammate to bring AT or bring EATs. I bring commando all the time. AP4 niche is either deleting masses of heavy infantry or picking off armor at a safe distance. I know it is just aping the shit out of 40k again but I would totally be down for a lictor variant of the stalker. Where their tongue has much longer reach and yoinks you in and rag dolls you instead of pushing you back. It stalks the group, or lone helldivers if it finds someone split off, and waits until you're actively fighting/distracted. Amber alerts one of you while the confusion breaks group cohesion and then specifically attacks the legs to break them. Could even give it a new debuff where you can stim for health but for a few seconds after it hits you with melee stims will not fix limbs. So it can actually hound your and cause you to burn stims or break your legs and solo you off if your allies cannot break away to help you. Since you will be unable to physically run away fast enough.

How about a buf with venom fangs that fire out like a ballistic knife. The venom debuffs your speed and does small health damage over time. Stimming brings the health back up but the venom still eats away until it's timer is up. Venom attacks stack so if multiple venom bugs shoot at you your health will melt faster.

Have a single elite unit that shows up incredibly rarely but makes you feel like prey would spice things up. You are not helpless. You simply are not running away from the threat until it ceases to be a threat. Which is 98% of the enemies in this game aside from titans. Which will chase you for 3-6 minutes if you do not effectively break line of sight completely. Even stalkers will give up after alittle. What is wrong with 1 enemy that actually forces a confrontation and doesn't instant gib or take away control? Being unable to run does not mean unable to fight or stim for time.

Hell I even like the idea of being dragged it sounds fun but the problem is if it it dragging you that means you're in a rag dolled state. aka - loss of control/nothing you can do. That is even worse then a broken leg you can't instantly fix. With the DPS most of the bugs are doing being dragged through even 1-2 warriors would almost assuredly equal death before you could control your character again. The intelligent maiming route at least gives you a fighting chance.

I think I got what you meant, I thought that’s where the duplex trigger came into play as a stand in for the “double” trigger of traditional shotguns, and if you just pressed and depressed the trigger every .5 seconds, you would be heat neutral, as it would naturally alternate the barrels: left/right, press/depress. It would also effectively “double” the semi auto fire rate, where as the “both barrels” option would fire both barrels on every button press, but not necessarily every depress, though that could be an option as well, as it is an electronically firing laser gun, not an actually mechanical shotgun trigger.

No. Increase the magazine capacity and reduce the number of spare magazines. Increasing magazine capacity fixes the problem of an awkward 3-round mag for a weapon that generally needs 2 hits to kill. It also improves the weapon's ammo economy by improving its ability to self-sustain from POI ammo boxes by making each ammo box more impactful.

additionally:

I think the 3 round limit is a good thing because it encourages you to be creative with how you use the last shot. Comboing it to finish off something weakened, or using strafing run are all valid for a lot of enemies.

Im not the one saying it needs to be harder. D10 is fine the way it is, other than never being able to find super credits. If you make it “harder” by removing chaff and making everything medium or tanks then the essence of the game is changed. The only suggestions I see in here are nerfs or using shitty loadouts only. I like using strafing runs and 500kgs and orbitals…. Thats what makes it fucking helldivers. I guess I would say make D11 and above completely new maps where the entire map is a mega nest or hypernest and there’s a boss in the middle or something. The current map layouts would just be a an overcongestion of enemies if you added more, and would not be engaging.
