Yes because P1/P2 are the ones you're going to be reusing the most. But then P1/P2 become the Red and Dark blue but for skills/white and pink sparks and your purple/light blue don't have to be 3*s but 2*s with lots of good skills to pass down. Though the idea would be to start over with 9*s at the grandparent level, run as many races/pass as many skills down as you can into white sparks, and by the time you get to Yellow you have full double circle affinity, all the white race and skill sparks you want to pass down and two 9* parents with whatever pink sparks to try and gamble affinity as well as skills for your racer.
