It's really the ultimate challenge in the D&D realm. There is nothing else out there. No other game, definitely not the newest release, and no other Baldurs Gate 2 mod either. SCS simply doesn't cut it if you are looking for a challenge.

If you actually played the game and did the quest you find out the guy never did anything with his wife, he's 90+ years old and as he puts it "has a spent wick", so Keldorn lost it over nothing. Just a kind old man who felt sorry for the family Keldorn left perpetually abandoned. Frankly if you are roleplaying as an actual Good aligned character I can't see taking any option other than telling him to go back to his family.

Keldorn realizes this which is why he lets him go after you talk to him, since he's not an Evil person. This route is also the one where you get maximum experience whereas you get nothing if you just hand William over to the courts without getting an explanation. The whole point of the quest is Keldorn realizing that what's Lawful isn't necessarily what's Good, and the latter outweighs the former.

Also very glad I put the grenade launcher on Blood's M16, one blast + a molotov took out about 6 very tough melee guards in a hall as they were heading out to slaughter the escapees. Still enjoying JA3 but I wish there was more in the non-combat area. If Disco Elysium is on one end of an axis, JA3 is on the other. There are plenty of decisions you can make and who you have with you can play a fairly big role, and doing things in certain orders can effect things, and there's a bit of banter and so on... But I'd love it even more if that stuff was deeper still.

That's asking for a lot though, but someday I'll have my perfect CRPG.

As much of a KOTOR 1 hater I am, I would never say that it's bad. It's just formulaic and plays it safe. To be honest, for most kids that played it, it was more than enough. I personally saw the twist coming from a mile away, but I know people that were shocked by it. I thought the starforge was a really fucking stupid concept that would only be cool to a child. Yeah sure, you can shit out fake star destroyers left and right, but where are you going to find the manpower and skilled individuals to crew all these ships?

Speaking of, I've always hated how KOTOR made the Sith have Imperial knock off designs, when it should be the opposite, like what we eventually saw in the movies, with the Republic having space triangles and TIE fighters. But like I said, it's a game for kids, you gotta give the sith bad-guy coded ships.

I just wouldn't rush it. My first attempt playing I was spending too much and it was a struggle. Slow growth works better, but it's a balance too because shit can happen like they retake a mine or some territory which reduces loyalty which reduces income. Now you're bleeding $3k a day and some contracts are almost up...
On the other hand, you can intercept a lot of diamond shipments and pick up money by hacking, but you don't want to live in the red and ideally you'll want some cash on hand to buy things or whatever.
I also think militia is handy but they do get wiped over time. It's not a foolproof way to lock down a sector.
I have Diamond Red, Mfumu's, and Old Diamond, and most of the central sectors above the river, and Cacao and a few sectors, and I feel like that supports me having two squads. I've done some things that helped get extra loyalty which gives more money too.
I think it's not a terrible idea to build up a second squad bit by bit, like a 2 or 3 person that can so some of: repair, scout, train militia, medical, make ammo/explosives. It's a bit of a drain since they're not generating cash but it can be helpful for a number of reasons.

Im running Warrior > Overseer mastiff with Attack of opportunity gear on. I think it's overall a pretty good build, you're basically invincible and if anyone attacks them you'll attack back 3 times and your dog will also attack.

I know there's probably some better comboes out there with the warp damage to adjacent which triggers dog attacks but whatever, not really min maxxing.

Don't know if I'd recommend the build. Or maybe I would. It's a pretty steady increase in power unlike most other ranged characters who cap out and then just sort of take random shit for 30 levels..

But I think the concept of an Eldar x human romance was a fun little cute idea in the 40K community that's been around for a while. Shame that Yrliet bith her romance and her as a character were done so poorly. The writer should have tried to write something more normal instead of trying to force some experimental idea they thought sounded smart and deep for the first ever Eldar vidya romance. Hell the concept could have worked, but it was so poorly executed.
