While I must admit there are sometimes fillers or floppers, a lot more things happened in old anime because the writers felt less restricted by the number of episodes.
They were able to put more wacky shit in their anime as opposed to "oh this is episode 8 already, I have to start setting up for the grand finale and my funny ideas have to make way for that."
If one episode is mid, there's always the next episode. It's still better than contemporary anime, where you can be eight episodes in and realize it's shit, which seems more like a waste of time to me.

To clarify, that's my second team that I barely put together to clear Section 2. I used a Kodya support to round it out. Pic related is what I usually run. I never rerolled period because my first 10-pull had Manager Don and Princess Rodion. I also have QoH and her EGO, but I don't have the resources to get her usable yet. I'm also probably gonna shard Priest Gregor whenever I'm able to.
