Decided to give Atos a shot because Meepoku buys it almost every game against the spirit heroes. There was a few times where I missed the diffusal and I think I should have went blink after atos instead of the dragon lance but overall it worked really well and helped me lock down the void literally all game. Didn't even bother with aghs this game, a first for me.

Dota isn't a main income for Valve, it's just a passion project. So if people incessantly complain, they aren't gonna be as passionate about it; devs are human too. It's unlike other game companies where the game is their livelihood and they gotta work no matter how they feel about it.

And I don't think Valve cares either way. They do things at their own pace. If they feel like dumping a lot of time into Dota, they will. If they don't, they let it go on maintenance mode for a while.

That's just how Valve works. It's not like Riot where they go bankrupt if LoL dies. Dota is just a fun little side project for Valve devs.

There is something really wrong with dota players.

I've been posting on here a few months back when I was learning the game, well I still am learning but I'm nearing 1k hours in dota sitting in 2,8k mmr. Back to the topic, no matter how ahead the team is, dota players just refuse to end the game if there are rax still standing at any lane. Unless there are 5 people dead on the enemy team or all the rax are destroyed they would rather go back to jungling than hit the ancient towers. I've had some discussion about it with my random teammates and they talk about muh buy back but that's the best way to force them out. I've never had such a problem playing League.

I think that the freedom this game gives you is just too much for the average player. I see people building shit items all the time, the aforementioned push-3-lanes-then-end cult and overall people trying to replicate something the high elo players do without adapting the play to the current scenario of the ongoing game.

I can't go back to League as Dota is an infinitely better game but it's really frustrating, EVERY damn game is stale as fuck and even if it's a 1 side stomp early the game will last 30-40 minutes because people in this elo have no idea what tempo means.

I've been picking Meepo a lot, and the stand out "features" of the hero I like the most are being able to secure your own farm/early game, and partially related to that, having a really big networth/xp advantage in the mid game. Are there other mid heroes that fit this mantra, even if their playstyle is a bit different? Would something like Alchemist fit this role? Are there other mid heroes that can realistically keep up a level a minute in a normal game? Broodmother is also coming to mind.

bristle and cent are good fundamental offlaners, keep practicing them. slar is kind of niche in that he sort of requires team play with a strong physical nuker to really come alive (like TA or PA or something) unless you're just outright snowballing. tide would be a better option as he's a stronger laner, fits more team comps but still retains some of the -armour initiation that you get with slar. as for two more heroes you should probably try a pushing hero for some variety, beast would be a good option as would enigma since that would let you get some practice on a ranged offlaner. both are micro heroes to an extent which can seem intimidating but it really isn't, just have select-non-hero-units bound and click on enemy heroes and towers. dawn is a fun hero and is good for working on your map awareness, similar to underlord in that respect. timbersaw is the most fun offlaner for taking over a game and bullying the enemy, but he is absolutely not braindead and you will bounce between games where you feel like an unstoppable god and games where you feel completely useless and unable to do anything at all as you work on learning where his limits are.

storm doesn't spike as hard in the midgame as meepo, but he does spike and snowball, and he is similarly hard to shutdown during the lanes since he's able to aggro push a wave and then bounce to grab a camp better than most mid heroes early. alch farms fast but he doesn't really become the midgame hunting assassin that heroes like meepo or storm can.

as you can see I somehow tanked it so much inbetween 15 games. The games were years ago and now i cant even play on my own server (australia), i have to queue on SEA which gives bad ping.
