When billionaires Gabe Newell thinks like this and Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and confirmed Pedophile Bill Gates are all together proving how retarded they've been the entire time...
It's over for anyone who wants to argue meritocracy.

Dude it's 2025. Billionaires are well known for being successfully based on their sociopathic lack of empathy, not any form of talent or skill.

Its improving, and shifting the goalpost wont change that.

>It's stalling bros
>Yeah but it's just a walking simulator bros
>Yeah but it can't plug into a huge code base yet bros

I've literally seen my professional skills (web dev), which was largely a fake job anyway, become worthless in 3 years with offshoring and claude code.
While anons say (correctly) that it's good AI is exposing entire sectors of the economy that are fake (from a B.S. job David Graeber sense), there are no new 'jobs' or 'skills' that will fill the financial void for those displaced as >>534111663 implies
And what's more, for every fake fiat service economy roasty job, 3 creative jobs are raped by collateral damage. This is the logical conclusion of the neoliberal project: Hollow out labor, start at the bottom rungs (manufactoring), then work your way up to white collar, elite jobs, etc.
On one hand you weren't born 100 years ago and conscripted to die in the mud or 1000 years ago to see your family die of the plague.
On the other hand this next decade or so is gonna be rocky as fuck if the history of elite-overproduction that foretells a collapse is any indication

And anons, I mean this genuinely:
If you think gamedev will be unscathed, that somehow it still preserves its pre-2022 shape, you're delusional.
Gamedev is one of the last lotto ticket creative enterprises that haven't flown out of proverbial 'Nam, and you better believe it's spinning up its blades.
You have a very limited window to make a dent before you're relegated to the soma cattle class with the rest of society.
Stop gooning, stop scrolling, stop wasting fucking time and make something

Singularity is terrible term that has no rigid definition and basically just means "AI revolution being visible" or it means "AI systems improving themselves".

If you want to go by the first definition then AI singularity happened in 2021-2022 with the first useful LLMs and ChatGPT starting this hype wave.

If you want to go by the second definition where its AI systems improving themselves then it happened in 2024-2025 few weeks ago. LLMs these days are all using synthetic data, which is AI improving AI. In like 2023 AI systems were already being used to make better GPU designs, and in 2025 now we had Google AlphaEvolve improve its own code to run better and few days ago we got AI models that can invent new better AI training pipelines then humans, at least in terms of performance in experimental settings. By all means Singularity is already happening which is why you see shitty image generators fix 6 fingers in 3 months, AI coders going from barely being a StackOverflow replacement into being legitimate threat to programmers in less then 2 years, and so on. You just got used to it or thought that Singularity would look like US inventing fusion in 2 weeks and on the fourth week colonizing Mars.

>LLM's are improving. It's basically Skynet!
Do you have any evidence for this? From what I've seen, ChatGPT has gotten significantly dumber and worse. MidJourney is mid still just like it has always been. They're cool toys, but utterly useless for 99% of use cases.

The worst thing is that Google & DuckDuckGo and others are putting A.I. summary answers at the top. It's horrible. They're hideously wrong 99% of the time and it's going to make people so fucking retarded... and people are already illiterate retards. Ugh.
