I mean more BP and Magik are characters who require literally zero aiming skill while Venom is a character that requires a good deal of aiming skill. His gameplan is simple but the execution factor makes him very hard to generate value with. If you aren't dealing damage as Venom you have no threat as a dive so people will just ignore you like a bad Cap.

Smurfs are never going away. Best they can do is reel in dive characters. Magik is the least offensive of the dive trio but is still braindead and tears apart scrub teams easily. Jeff is even more situational than Peni is. On maps with plenty of ledges Jeff can single handedly turn the tide of a battle and kill the entire opposing team with his ult. I've had a game or two where the rare decent Jeff player was using his ult to clear the cart during choke points. He would just take whoever he got away from the fight and kill them/die. However 99.9% of Jeff players are trash and he's awful on most maps. Jeff's ult might get more utility if the most egregious ults in the game weren't also CC immune. If Jeff could swallow Luna or Punisher during their ults people probably would cut Jeff players a little slack.

I actually think his rework butchered him utterly. Not only did it take away his "DPS Jeff" playstyle but his bubbles got nerfed heavily. Jeff's old saving grace was he was the highest burst healer in the game without question. They took away his unique flanker/support style and removed his burst healing (the best type of healing) for a stat padding M1. Which I guess makes him more useful against flyers.

The problem I have with people hating Hulk’s kit because they don’t feel like it suits Hulk is that they’re essentially saying they’re not open to the devs getting creative with the characters for the sack of fun gameplay. For example, take someone like Rhino from Spider-Man. Conceptually he’s very similar to Hulk and Thing and Juggernaut. He’s a big strong guy who charges forward and smashes things. There’s not much you can do with him to differentiate him from the other 3 and if we go by what Hulk haters want, he’d have no hope of ever appearing in the game. But if we get creative, and do more with the ‘suit’ he’s fused to, suddenly he’s not just a guy who charges and smashes things. He’s a guy who charges and smashes things, and maybe has a shield and some projectiles and a whole bunch of other added utility, but it’s only possible if you let yourself be open to doing more with the characters. Another example. Take the lizard. He’s just a big green lizard who scratches and bites. Kinda boring. But what if we took inspiration from someone like Reptile from mortal kombat and we give him some poison moves, and do more with his reptilian tongue. The core if the characters is still there, but they do a little bit more. Just like Hulk. He punches, he rages, he leaps, but he can also do more.

Every tank does damage, no shit sherlock. The difference is that all 3 that you mentioned deal LESS damage than Emma, and can mitigate MORE damage than Emma for their team. Which is the defining feature of a real tank.

Groot's walls don't just block heals, they also block damage and are tanky enough that they can literally force swaps on the enemy team to Punisher/SG/Bucky.
Strange doesn't actually go for backline usually unless you're in absolute pisslo where healers are far up enough to randomly be in range of his burst. Not to mention his shield.
Mag shoots whatever he can, but you conveniently forget to mention his far more important role of bubbling low health teammates and timing his shield to completely mitigate massive bursts of damage.
