2.X having a proper overarching antagonist in the Leviathan but also letting every patch have a conclusive story arc has felt great.
I realize a ton of my fatigue in live service games is filler patches that feel like nothing happened, but the worst we've had since 1.3 was 1.4 (camellya exclusive development, not really moving the plot forward) and 2.3 (Ciaconna's quest was good, but it just hammers the 2.0 theme of "wow church bad").
1.3, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, and now 2.5 have all had good stories that started and concluded in their patch, with the 2.X patches also pushing a greater narrative. I could see an argument 2.0's ending was weak, but that's about it.

Phoebe's was the worst one, I didn't know what was going on and the bank was kind of annoying...

But i more or less agree. Going slurp mode here but Wuwa single handedly restored my faith in CN storytelling. What's more is that the conversation between Frog and Rover at the end shows the writers know where they're heading too. There's a ton of stuff that can be unpacked from Rover's history, probably over the course of millennia, and jumping to that kind of stuff now after 2.5's story won't feel forced. Wuwa has been so blisteringly competent that I'm convinced they don't have CN writers on their team or something. To marry gameplay, cinematography, music, pacing, dialogue, all into a splendid mix takes so much effort, there's a reason most gachas are glorified VN by comparison. Wuwa's main story has consistently felt like a movie, with new areas and new tracks all the time with a story that mostly respects your intelligence and gives you payoffs for following along. I genuinely feel like the devs are just going to burn out at this pace.

I just reached Union level 40 and my databank now finally only gathers 5 star Echoes, is this the time I can finally start grinding out good Echoes with my desired substats and stuff?
Any tips or mistakes to avoid would definitely be appreciated, I don't want to waste time or resources being a dumb idiot.

Don't burn out on farming 5* echoes, but otherwise yes. You can use stat pickers on the 1/3 cost echoes, never the 4*s cuz they're very easy to farm now. Some characters also have echo sets that are in newer areas so don't overform the old ones. Moonlit + main element echo set is probably safe unless you have a newer 2.x character.

Focus on two main dps to max level first, supports and subdps can be left at ~40-60 for a while.

When you level up echoes go level 5 or max 10 then tune it. If what you get isn't crit chance or damage, it's shit. Once you get a better one than the first, scrap the old from your inventory to get partially refunded. If it's crit in the first 2 then do 2 more for the other crit. Level to max once you get both chance and damage.
Or you can feed unwanted echoes directly to a new echo but don't fall into the trap of putting too many tubes in 1 echo to then tune other echoes over and over by feeding the old into a new one. You'll be wasting echo exp tubes if you do that as the tubes needed to reach tuning milestones gets bigger each time, and the refund is a partial % of what was spent on it.
Save Modifiers for 3 cost echoes. Those have the biggest pool of random main stat with a random set. Usually 4 cost echoes are the easiest to maximize because you can farm them indefinitely.

I don't keep track of the stat pickers but I have like 140, so you probably can get enough to at least get the right main stats on your characters.

Don't upgrade blue weapons much. Switch best weapons between resonators when not in use. Pick Verina from the starter convene, she's a great all-around healer. If you really want a DPS instead, select Encore. Read which resonator's powers scale with ATK and which with DEF or HP, though there's just a couple. Baizhi for instance scales with HP, famously. Focus on just a few characters first so you can keep them high level according to increasing world level.

It's fine if you want to save time. 1 cost just generally has less main stat % options, being hp%, def%, atk%. While 3 cost run the entire elemental gamut + ER% + hp/def/atk%.

That being said, the echo farming stages that use stamina primarily give 3 cost echoes so you might have a surplus of 3 cost echoes vs 1 cost. You'll be more limited by echo exp or tuners in the end.

Buy each week from Ku-Money in Black Shores cheap cooking materials. You're looking for Sweet and Sour Pork ingredients the most as the dish boosts echo drop rate from the base 20% to 30%. Always buy Flour and Sweet and Sour sauce from him. Jinzhou has a grocery shop that's expensive but you can buy Premium Gold Incense Oil from him. The dish is good for farming 1 cost to 3 cost echoes. Don't use for 4 cost because echoes have a hidden pity system with 1 cost needing the most kills while 4 cost gives you an echo after the 2nd kill.

Standard 5* weapons are pretty hard to get, even if some of them are considered signature weapons for some of the older characters (Amos bow - Ganyu). But the big difference is that 4* weapons are actually good and usable unlike WuWa where the standard 5* weapons are the baseline since 4* are awful. This creates an issue in WuWa where characters regardless of scaling all have to share the same weapon as the baseline, an example is Carthy who is an hp scaler and the standard 5* does not boost hp so it is awful on her resulting in her signature being such a big power increase.

Historically most WuWa signatures are about as powerful as the signatures in Genshin comparatively, but following Brant WuWa has increased the power differential between signatures and standard 5* by a large margin.
