Reminiscent of when ranks of infantry brandish their prods rushing into the enemy line. It moves me deep within my heart to watch a Wisp meleeing over and over into the bloated chest of a long-dead enemy.

OK, so I returned after years. Played The new war, some sections were kinda fun, some were a chore. But Im playing Duviri paradox, and it got me yawning. Never got that interested on warframe "lore"m but fucking hell, the quest so far fells like a fever dream indeed. I dont understand shit and I almost feel like on the brim of leaving it again.
Returning to the game made me realize how a chore some missions are, I remember some fun parts but I dont know if Im wanna get invested of a second job / farming game again.
Ok ok, so my questions are:

The "new" drifter melee controlscheme and mechanics, felt like someone just drugged me and forced me to play, I mean I have to learn ANOTHER control scheme and mechanics now? If I wanted melee, I best return to stellar blade, even with its quirks.

>I got the 28 MR test announcement, but then again, it feels more like a chore.
I dunno, Im willing to do some grind if the rewards are nice, but so far just doing the relic cracking missions is making a dent on my will. Like 8+ radiant cracked and not even one silver tier reward on my relics.
On the good side, I can do arbitrations now, and I know that some amalgam mods are nice, but beyond that, and some sorties, I am doubting that returning was a good idea.

Turn off the auto following shit (R key). Ignore all mechanics for parrying and shooting the archers. Acquire a few intrinsics and switch to your sorroco to blast thrax in the face and one shot them while never meleeing again, repeat, kill oro worm with zero challenge, get pathos clamps/intrinsics/Kullervo, don't touch it outside of circuit runs in a public group ever again. I'm working on an absurdly stupid yareli build, can't decide what companion to use.

The idea is to use the Grimoire and just stack fire rate to the moon. Yareli herself has arcane velocity for 120% fire rate, since she's always critting anyway, and merulina guardian for another 200% fire rate and arcane precision for 300% damage because with all this fire rate SOMETHING is going to get hit in the head. Obviously using Furax Wraith for another 45% fire rate.

The grimoire itself is modded for fire rate and multishot while maintaining electricity damage for Conjunction Voltage. So right now I basically instantly charge the alt-fire and CV, and with Yareli's passive it's pretty close to 100% crit rate.

But I can't decide on a companion. The idea is the companion's going to use Reinforced Bond and Tenacious Bond to give me another 60% fire rate and Final Critical Multiplier. Maybe panzer vulpaphyla to get some viral procs in?

Soulframe doesn't have vacuum.
Universal or otherwise.
There's just as much resource grinding as in Warframe, but you have to go touch every single drop to pick it up.

zariman has a few shit objectives, but the missions themselves are on average faster with only geddon being super slow and mobile def being mobile def

I don't mind exterminate as much. Takes me like 3-4 minutes, just around a minute longer than legacyte. The kills from above isn't that hard either but only if I get it during the defense mission. 1999 has more easy bounties than Holdfast.

As an Ember main, it’s because she’s shit. Wisp is just better in every way despite serving a different role. You need to invest way too much into her to make her serviceable while Wisp is good with just a potato. Ember sucks as a caster and is middling as a weapon platform with the only good thing in her kit for it being her 1 augment for lots of heat damage and even then, just pick Gauss and you have not only a better weapon platform but a better heat caster with a better DR ability and way better mobility

The augment is just free strength. But generally you don't really have much to build with him other than strength. You can dump efficiency since you're not casting that much. You don't need too much duration, a bit over neutral is nice if you subsume over your 4. Range can also stay at neutral. But even then 18 charges are more than enough. He depletes a charge once every second or 1.5 seconds or something like that. And realistically you won't be under constant machine gun fire, you will have some downtimes where you aren't damaged.

Why? It's simple. Armor isn't that important anymore. Heat procs strip up to 50% enemy armor. That alone is a 2.5x damage increase. 10 stacks of viral increase your base damage from 100% to 425%. 425%*2.5x=1062. So you're doing nearly 11 times the damage you would otherwise deal to an armored enemy. What is the point in using corrosive, then? Well I'd really like to know too because it effectively increases your damage from 100% to 1000% when all the armor's gone. Shit's worse than viral and heat. It's retarded.
You can slap on magnetic for an extra element if you feel like it, there are mods for that now, it's always neat to have. But that's it. Viral heat is king.

Slightly more customization would completely solve that. They added voidshell for the drifter and if they had followed through on that then you'd be able to switch out materials when they don't match.

After that all you need is a way to assign/swap material faces for each category and the game's versatility and customization is improved 10-fold.

Personally I think it's crazy they don't already have this set up. It's relatively trivial to do - at least compared to any other sort of DLC/content expansion with new gameplay mechanics, it adds more customization which players will love, and it's directly monetizable with tennogen and plat materials for warframes like they already do for colors.

It's low hanging fruit and pretty much all massive upsides for how much work is involved, and they've clearly already thought about it and started doing it - but it's just left hanging. I don't understand why. The studio is making good money, has plenty of employees, they aren't in end of life maintenance mode, and this is easy to do. It should've happened half a decade ago so what's actually stopping them?
