If it's a taskbar issue, the player set it up wrong
If it's a "shit with a job" issue, the player can level up and switch to another and see if that works. Some people can play BLM, others will be on the ground every time, others multiple times.

ARR extremes and unreals are piss easy but once I got to DT I started sucking ass at even normal difficulty, and following the healer for a chance to live. This doesn't work when the healers also tend to drop like flies because you need to know where to stand even before you get a clue of what will happen.

I've said it a thousand times now, but on launch for 7.0 when I did every dungeon and every trial with randoms we wiped MINIMUM 3 times and OFTEN 5+ times before we cleared. And it wasn't even like raging butthurt, everyone I queued up with collectively scratched their head and said "Huh...fuck me...this is a bit harder than I was expecting" and we bumbled our way through on RNG and just bashing our heads against the brick wall, learning almost nothing. I personally dropped the game for 8 months after beating Dawntrails MSQ, partly because of the difficulty spike.

Yeah, you worded it perfectly. I dropped the game for 7 months after beating 7.1 because I was so burnt out. I don't necessarily think difficulty is a bad thing, but XIV's definition of it past ShB seems to be "make reaction times instant and make AoEs instakill" instead of an actual challenge. There are exceptions, but generally it's tiring.
That said, I'm back now and I like the dungeons I've been seeing, but when I did the throneroom trial, everyone except one of the healers died at least once, and most of us died a minimum of 3 times. I was playing RPR so a lot of the AoEs were very difficult to dodge, explains why so many people were playing casters and ranged DPS.
