I think the devs deliberatley tried to circumvent the most powerful builds with how they designed their fights.

I guess Solasta 2? Swordhaven looks good too. There's a few decent looking crpgs coming up but nothing that I'm super excited for.
I'm not playing dark heresy unless there's significant improvements to the gameplay and I'm not really into the 40k setting so its hard for me to be truly hyped for that.

Finally got a full second squad and equipment and ammo distributed and sorted in JA3, and while the main team is going to try to head up to help with a call we got from the very far north, Bravo Squad just won their first fight for a sector! Good for them! Feels good that all the loot is theirs, no more hand-me-downs from here on out.
I think I'm going to switch out Fox for Buns though, especially since a perk of hers can give special dialogue apparently. and Buns refuses to join while I have a contract with Fox. The first member of this team was Meltdown who I needed due to the Psycho trait, which is the only way to unite the grannies of Port Cacao Docks.

I think Lex Imperialis actually a good DLC.
I don't think the reviews are even close to correct. Void Shadows is better, but it did do many things better than Void Shadows did.

It's got better items.
It's map designs are higher tier by a long margin.
And whilst the class power leaves a lot to be desired, it's still adding quite a bit of "class content" in the form of the different pets and specializations you can make from them.

I mean the difference between the playstyle of pets alone is almost a class unto themselves.

I really think this is good and recommend it. The game with both DLC's feels great.

Horus Heresy is mostly a tertiary content. A handful of guys read this stuff and then make wiki pages out of this. I finished it in my July run

Idea for a CRPG - you play as a companion. The main character is a story character. In a given playthrough, he may choose to take you with him in the party or leave you out for hours, even for the entire game, or even not recruit you. If he does interact with you, he may start intiating a romance route and then cut it off in the last second when you tell him you've fucked one other man before him. Occasionally he'll stop by to start dialogue with you, checks if you have any new options available, and then immediately says good bye and doesn't even let you finish speaking before end dialogue. If he does take you along, you have to do what he commands you to do unless he's kind enough to play in real time mode, and in turn based he will sometimes just do nothing for an hour mid battle for some reason. Then when he beats the game you get a shitty fucking ending that completely contradicts your storyline.

For BG3 it's 24.3% however, so clearly people drop owlcat's a lot more. I think it's due to the minigames and poor encounter design that feels grindy. Without toybox I probably wouldnt finish their games either and I bet only 10% of people use toybox, if that.

If I had to narrow it down, I'd say I am most excited for Dark Heresy, because I have so many good memories of the tabletop, I've really wished for a DH videogame for a long time. But Larian's project is up there too.

Normally soul would go to the Warp and then eventually Eldar would reincarnate. Ever since Chaos Gods corrupted Warp it's no longer possible since Slaanesh will eat their souls.

Soulstones are pokeballs capturing Eldar souls before they can go to Warp. They can then get added to Infinity Circuit on a Craftworld and so Eldar souls can chill in an artificial afterlife.

Exodites have big Inifnity Circuit on planet instead of individual soulstones since they aren't travelling anyway. All creatures who die on their planet have their souls captured into it. Bugs, shitty minigames, terrible late game acts, repetitive combat. There's plenty of hurdles for people trying to complete an owlcat game. bg3 has some of these issues to but nowhere near as severe as owlcat games do.

There's also the fact that owlcat have been adapting far more complex rpg systems than bg3's 5e, for better or worse. There's probably countless people who never even got past character creation in wotr or kingmaker. bg3 you can just pick whatever class looks cool and then figure things out as you play.

I would be surprised if dark heresy having full voice acting makes a significant difference to the percentage of people finishing it.

Anyone noticed how crpgs based on tabletop games like dnd and pathfinder end up being about curbstomping the enemy before they can do the same to you? The nature of action economy gameplay in these games means everything has to end fast otherwise you risk getting fucked.
Look at WoTR for example, enemies can in their turn in higher levels drain your stats, absolute shred your main fighters, apply debuffs and the like, so you want to do the same and kill them before they can do anything. Since every turn is 6 seconds, it feels weird that for example your big battle with deskari must last less than half a minute if you want to effectively survive and win. Makes things feel less epic for me.

I like that we have a kroot and a corsair, and ogryn can be fun too. I think the cast is overall fine so far, with some cool aliens/mutants and variety.

That being said, I hope one of the future or secret companions is a waifu. I'm guilty of liking at least one waifu character in these games, even if I care more about the gameplay and story and such. It's nice to have, but is not the most important thing.

Gold Dragon should also have been cut. And all the remaining development time should've gone to further detailing the remaining paths so each one was full and rich in content. Having fewer, but deeper paths is a much better and more satisfying way to design a game, especially since the vast majority of people are not going to play through the game more than once or twice, at most.

As it is the low content paths are nothing but trap options for people unfamiliar with the game or scraps and dregs for those who are doing their fourth or fifth playthrough. If Owlcat does another 40K CRPG, I expect it to be Imperium Maledictum or Only War or Wrath and Glory with inqusiton involvement.
It seems Owlcat gravitates towards this in 40K as Rogue Trader feels more like a Dark Heresy game than a Rogue Trader game. You mostly investigate stuff like chaos and genestealer cults, xeno plots and even work for a lord inqusitor chasing a mystery rather than being focused on rogue trader politics, space adventures, trading, colonizing and aquiring resources or xeno artifacts etc. The only thing is the scale, 70% of the plot with the power level lowered would fit better in Dark Heresy by miles.
