When the game came out, this place was pretty good.
We used to have an even characterfag split, we had a lot of good drawfags and writefags and people trying to learn to draw/write to make more OC and we could schizo out about Gaster very freely.
There were weirdos sure, like catfucker and doggo anon and that one guy who got way too obsessed with saving Asriel.
Then very gradually they all filtered out and it became ritualposting, gotefags and Charafags, like a vaguely Undertale themed chatroom.
But by that point I was only checking in out of morbid curiosity

I am 100% convinced our lack of options in this scene is because we briefly broke off the path laid out by the prophecy.
The prophecy dictates what we can say whilst on the path which is partly why the prophecy supposedly comes true no matter what we say or do.
That is until we find a loophole and force Noelle to be our puppet, as to what end however, we dont know yet.
Our lack of options here is because the prophecy, like a computer program, doesn't know what to give us as options.
Susie was never supposed to ask us "what we were talking about" effectively knocking us off the path, but then she doubled back and joked about it, landing us back onto the path.
Kris is called the "Dark Bead" in chapter 4 weird route and it states "broken off but still locked" which is what im using to support my theory that we created an opening to subvert the prophecy but we have yet to make our move.
I have a feeling we're going to have more scenes like this going forward since we're subverting the prophecy and it doesn't know what options to give us.
Assuming I am correct, that means the soul is directly connected to the prophecy which may or may not be a program of sorts similar to how undertale was just a game program that Asriel and Kris made as kids on their computer.

I admit I do feel like im partly overthinking it, but I swear its snapping together in my head like a jigsaw puzzle.
The alternative is that Kris is getting stronger and we are getting weaker but that would make more sense in the normal route since it appears that we definitely have way more control over Kris in the weird route if we're capable of forcing him to do these horrible things.
I also think that he is an agent of the prophecy (kinda a no shitter at this point) because he talked to Noelle and removed the thorn from her when he shoved us into the sink's cupboard which knocked us back onto the path.
All WE did in chapter 4 was essentially seal the deal since we now know Kris is actively trying to stop us and we got to see what happens when we're off the path.

Quickly slipping under Asgore's cloak as a visitor comes in looking to discuss royal matters with him and choosing to hug him from the side to keep his motivation strong. Giving the living room a fresh coat of paint with Asgore (wearing full overalls since trying to get paint out of his fur is the worst) when he carefully paints a little heart with both of our initials inside on the wall behind where the front door opens with some spare white we had lying around, which I find cute enough that I commit to making it a permanent part of the paint job that will be touched up as needed rather than simply painting over it like he probably intended. Driving back home through the night on the final leg of a road trip with Asgore when I decide to neglect waking him up for his turn driving in favor of just going the distance myself, since I'm not having trouble staying awake and he deserves his beauty sleep after such a lively day (snuggles will be demanded as payment for sticking it out through the night, of course).

Chapters 3&4 took 3.75 years, or 1.875 years per chapter. Chapter 5 has already been in development for 11 months or 0.92 years.

Assuming absolutely zero efficiency gains from the chapter 3&4 days we can expect chapter 5 to be done in 0.095 years, which is July 21, 2026.

You can read when playtesting started and when development in earnest was for chapter 3 and 4. I think it was like half development, and half testing. Testing is a large part, but every fight has unique mechanics. A lot of the scenes are pretty unique. Chapter 3 also had the fact that there were a lot of minigames. It's a development heavy game despite the looks. It's not like you just create a world and have the physics work, Toby is a cunt and wants a watercooler to appear out of a chest for a second.

What I want to explore next is the connection between the soul, Susie, and Noelle (weird route).
Noelle seems kinda self explanatory but there is potential for expansion.
One theory is that because the soul is interlinked directly with the prophecy, we are able to surveil Susie because she too is linked to the prophecy as "the dragon".
We can't control susie because she's not a cage and we cant enter her but we can linger around her in a sort of 4th wall.
Im not a fan of this theory all that much since technically Ralsei is part of the prophecy as well but we cant surveil him.
There is however another theory that I cant exactly back up but I know there are people that suggest that Susie is part human and therefore her body is a potential cage and is why we can surveil her.
As for Noelle though, she is a monster through and through but we give her the thorn ring to act as a sort of soul modem so while we cant directly control her, we can indirectly do so through sheer willpower.
The only thing left is, why did Spamton have the ring? How much does he know? Did he know about the ring's connection to the soul and thought it would set him free only to cast it aside when he realized it was a shackle?

Ch4, I wanna say was the music part, alongside the overall theme, story, and the Gween Soul. Maybe the climbing section of it overall, or the "use your light to defeat the projectiles".

I have no experience with RPGMaker as an engine itself, mostly because I'm no game developer, I'm a gamer. And I stay the fuck away from most RPGMaker games due to them being generic slop.

The Thorn Ring is a thorn in real life, Deltarune has a lot of flowers in trash cans and Spamton lives in a trash can so that seems to be the connection

That said there is a certain point where you cant turn back and we start speaking in single words.
often times we can only speak one word or different phrases that mean the exact same thing like when we say equip, proceed, noelle will get stronger, etc.
We couldn't answer Susie because there were no options given to us by the prophecy and we had no phrases worth saying to her.

I finally caught up and finished chapter 4 and my brain has been fucked ever since.
