No its just because it follows a similar theme of a slow adventure story, but it lacks in a lot of aspects comparatively. The comedy is not there, girl squirming about le gross thing and screaming and bitching every episode is not funny, loud is not funny. The MC is basically a plank of wood, the comedy is "quirky dude wants to eat monster haha" while he exhibits little emotion and doesn't even seem to care about the girl being digested by the dragon. Why the fuck is Ascension's Bronzebeard so schizophrenic? On one hand it has M+, WoD Models and level scaling all retoilet features that don't really belong in Classic, on the other it has a huge focus on the open world and taking it slow to explore everyone and look for new quests and cool treasures, even if it's a fucking green pair of shoes with 2 spirit. It seems like they're trying to appeal to everyone and I'm just not sure it works.

Yes, Legion was designed with walking and riding in mind, which is why it was good it didn't have flying until almost a year into the expansion, and then you still had to experience the content to see it.
If you had flying before then, you'd be deprived of ever having to consider the terrain. Navigating the terrain is part of the fun of open world traversal. Mounting up, pressing space bar and just ignoring it completely demeans everything and trivialises objectives.
That isn't really true in more recent expansions which are designed with flight in mind, with huge swathes of space between objectives being just empty with nothing really going on. At least flying now has some sort of gameplay associated with it.

Getting logged is basically inevitable. Unless you're actively standing in fire and dying every pull no one really cares if you don't parse well as long as you're making some effort to push buttons and do mechanics right. The ones who do care you probably wouldn't want to play with anyways. Parsing in wow (especially vanilla) is kind of a meme anyways since its 80% gear and 20% actual skill/optimization.

Logs are first and foremost intended to be an improvement tool. People just misuse them as a dick measuring contest.

Chests should be locked by default.
When a chest spawns, a mob should spawn with it that blends in with the local area's mob types. If you kill the mob, you earn a generic chest key that has a duration of 5 minutes.
(5 minutes means you can't hold onto this key and then use it later on a different chest, so the devs dont need to create 50 different chests and 50 different key items).
You can then use that key to open the chest.
Ta'da.
Or you could pick lock as a rogue, maybe.
