It was meant to be a temporary home for humanity until they found a new planet, and since they thought their memories were reality, they assumed humanity tried changing as little as possible from how things worked on Earth to keep the secret going (I guess). Although we know from the library documents that there is probably nobody as poor as the twins or as rich as Kurara.
I was just thinking how Kako in particular never questioned this supposed discrepancy in their memories even when Shouma brought up how their memories were likely tampered with. That was before their character arcs, but she could have said something afterwards or during 2nd scenario after learning the truth. Kodaka forgot...

People joke about Hiruko and Eva looking alike and Hiruko having a beef with Eva because of that, but when I played Route 0 and Eva took off her helmet my immediate thought was "Hiruko?!"
