Easier said than done with havoc enemy density, you're often better off just cleaving through enemies anyway, and it's not like lone crushers are even a threat.
Also I've had next to no success using the push attack on the sword and I'm not exactly sure why. It seems to always deactivate after the first push attack, but that might be enemies hitting me during the attack and disabling it because fatshark decided to make the weapon retarded and clunky.

Is the relic blade just not that good or am I missing something? It feels extremely slow and cumbersome even with the 10% attack speed node and I frequently find myself messing up combos because of how unresponsive it is so I just spam lights. It's very good. All 3 keystones have ways of giving you more attack speed. Martyr and IJ get it as part of the keystone itself whereas BP gives you Invocation of Death uptime to let you spam FOTF which gives a 20% attack speed buff.

I've been doing some Auric Maelstroms and I'm curious how much more chaotic Havoc missions get. What are the most reasonable comparisons from Auric Maelstrom conditions to low-mid Havocs like?

Havoc doesn't start outpacing AM until the 20s. The main thing at that point is the multiple monster spawns, so you can end up with 3 bosses while trying to handle a mixed horde

High Havoc is much heavier on elite spam than Auric, and current HiSTGs and AM outpace havoc in terms of special spam. Havoc also has the Monstrous Maelstrom modifier always active, and often had captains spawning at map progression boss triggers (sometimes alongside another boss). The twins can also spawn once per map. Enemies also have more health and you have less health and toughness.

I don't have a good answer but I just want to say that I'm facing the same sort of dilemma right now.

I feel like I play pretty well but its mostly as an individual. I try to stick with kits that are pretty generalist so that I don't get caught out if my team is lacking, but I think that to push higher I need to focus on a more dedicated specialization and accept that I'm going to have to trust my team more.
