anons, this is probably going to be a question that noone here can answer, but
games like Enter the Gungeon or Binding of Isaac - are the enemies that get spawned in every room, how are they selected? what i mean is, let's say we have room of type X, would the enemies spawned be explicitly set in the Room "construct" or "prefab", or would it rather be that the level has a set of enemies spawns, and it would just choose one randomly or using some logic? i don't know if i'm articulating myself properly here

You could use a dificulty variable, a variable that counts how many enemies the player has killed, the number of levels, use enemies that counter act the player current weapon.
You can have a random number, and then have each option have a secondary choice.
Or do stuff like a random number divided into 2 tiers, and then make one being easy and the another spawn a harder enemy a 1/3 of the time.
Your question has a million ways to be solved, and is when coding becomes more an art than a science.

its not quite as rigid as the vertex snapping youd see on ps1 shaders cus i use smoothstep + voronoi noise, and then split each vector direction (x, y, z) for their own calculations... Thats also what is causing the in-lines to look so bad.

If I do this for actually in the game, it'll be a post processor with ObjectID tags, jump flood algorithm and then also probably a sine wave function w/ minor noise to more smoothly offset values, instead of voronoi + vertex snapping... I'm learning blender, I often times see people make heads using planes, other times modeling it from a subdivided cube. Whats the right approach?

they're pleasing to look at and boobs are basically spheres, so I can get a good idea how the lighting on the shader is gonna turn out.
gameplay is LSD Dream Emulator walking/exploring clone but with mini games and the worlds are generally more interactive. I'm still working on the shader for the arcade screens, thats why you see the purple-ish coloration scanning from top to bottom but not any scanlines yet.

You're better off running the high fidelity realistic assets through an automated LOD program and using them as PSX style assets.

The Tackle workflow has the basic functionality complete. It also works for multiple defenders in range to tackle.
The first defender has a low defence stat so couldn't take the ball. But the 2nd defender did.

Steam isn't giving any impressions at all, I'm not sure what is happening with it for what the impressions are stinky. It's only getting 20-40 impressions per day with the optimized tags. For impressions out of anything else I've released it's less than half of the second worst pre-release steam page I've made. I did a 20 dollar marketing campaign with ads and it does get clicks from it. I wanted to do it to see what was going on in a little more detail. I'm going to guess when the Steam Fest happens eventually it will explode with impressions.
I'm not going to worry more about it until closer to release. I should focus on other things with the game way more.

In the early 2000s, cinema started shifting from grandiose auteur works, to mass market slop. This culminated in college comedy movies and disney "for the whole family" type shit. These movies started getting bad, but people like you wrote it off as "eh, they're fun to watch with friends". And now, fast forward to 2020s, and where is cinema now? Essentially dead. All the competent filmmakers left, and only the slop-minded, money-oriented retards are left who can't produce a thing. Wokeness and COVID didn't help things either but they obfuscate the real issue with cinema.
Same thing WILL happen to games if this trend continues. Making (good) games is time consuming and expensive. Many devs fall into the trap thinking of "I'll just make some shitty sloppa to get money, and then I'll make my dream game!", but the reality is that this isn't what happens. You condition yourself to only think in the terms of friendslop style design and how to make the most money, your actual creative capabilities get atrophied and by the end, you end up hollowed out and you don't even care for your dream anymore.
AAA has already went through this, and so it's in such a shit state now, and for me it's disheartening to see indie games, the once bastion of expression and creativity, go down the same shitter where cinema and AAA games went.
Trying to reduce the machine gun units DPS without just numerically gutting their scaling, recalled an idea I had a in the early stages, of making those attack spray. Prototype

But some of the other MG units are larger and shoot more from above (MG mounted on a pickup), so this prototype impl would suit them fine.
