heavy armor, high MD, and slow. Longbeards might be the worst example - they can carry you in AR but are just dwarf warriors+. Aspiring Champions somewhat too - busted in AR, but in battle if they're not mixed in with a unit of chaos warriors or plaguebearers I don't think they perform anything like AR thinks, although they are pretty good and not nearly as disparate between AR/manual as longbeards, especially with the WoC tech.

I'm on turn 90 on L/VH and my western flank is super exposed because I have to kill all of Cathay with most of my armies. A part of the Chorf experience is being wide open to attack from several sides, but the AI rarely takes your settlements aggressively because of your chaos corruption, it usually tends to sack them instead.

I agree and I think Chorfs are how most races should be. You start weak, but you can earn great power with time and through effort. You don't get anything for free. It's so much better than the Dwarf equivalent of being overpowered turn 5 or 1. It just feels satisfying to get tower seats, techs, forge upgrades, caps and constantly feel you're getting stronger, and it isn't satisfying to be regular Dwarfs, get to tier 2 and be able to recruit units most AIs cannot counter like Dwarfs and Gyrocopters. Even if you ignore those, there's Irondrakes and other shit there at tier 2, and no limits to these, free powerful grudge units, etc. For regular Dwarfs to be any satisfying to play, you have to impose limits upon yourself.

In wh3, when you drag out a line of units from your hotbar, they will take the order of the horbar

Later he did get into sculpting and making his own assets to impose on models, and he's doing passes on every faction. Not really. I kinda like the RoR volley that's in a wagon, as it's a mobile artillery piece, but in my experience wagons in general aren't worth it. They're okay early on for some novelty and mobile guns, but quickly phase them out. I'm always disappointed by them past the early game. Yes, deleting the .txt file or the folder in appdata doesn't fix shit. I've done this many times. Only has the chance to break if I open the 'manage mods' area in the launcher. the Eviltide mod is one of the best additions I have done in my setup, gives a permanent Waaagh mechanic to every "evil" faction, making it so they dominate all the map and so you can expand at pleasure as an "order" faction and puts you in a permanent state of war, siege and killing endless hordes of enemies, which as factions like the Dwarfs or Empire is a must because even if you play in Legendary the game becomes so easy past a certain turn you need that extra difficulty level to keep it interesting.

It's already my most played Dawi LL. Grombrindal was previously. It's an interesting mix of regular settlements + horde, so you can lean into one or the other as much as you want. Plus being at the front of Ordertide against Chaos is neat and you can go whichever way. I take out Throt first, then usually Norsca but you can go North, or East, whatever, all good. Some of his lines are reddit-tier, though.

I started an egrimm campaign with the mixu cheat and it's quite fun.

It's a cross between a tzeentch and vilitch campaign. The mortal units replace blue/pink horros (but you can get horrors in a beastmen dread style menu).

Nothing OP so far except the mortal units do have the warshrine trait that gives infinite winds when things die near them.

You can confed kairos, changeling and vilitch which should be fun.

Chaos feels bad to play after the mid game, if you lose any unit it's a lot more punishing and if you lose an army it might as well be campaign ending with the amount of work you gotta do to get it back. Wish there was a technology to at least unlock normal chaos warrior recruitment back, having to walk through the whole chaos wastes to get one army and even then having the chance to be stuck with marauders on turn 80 is quite miserable.

Tried the Phoenix Court mod but ehh, unlike the Tower of Zharr it feels like they were too afraid of making something too good so the bonuses you get from seats are all really trivial. I guess it gives me a way to eventually confederate Tyrion and Alarielle at least but it also means I can't confederate minor factions the normal way.

if you're talking about vampire counts, khorne is probably the single hardest faction for them to deal with
you really just have to tarpit them as much as possible, goon their characters with several single entities at once, and try to surround everything else from all sides
your elite flanking units will still be effective, especially blood dragons and hexwraiths
you can still use damage spells, but because of the spell resistance sometimes you are better off using buffs or debuffs
