The way career works is that each one you "complete", she gets added to your veteran list. You access that by looking at the lower bar, go to Enhance > Veteran Umamusume > List. "Complete" is when that career ends, whether you fail to miss the goals, pass the goals but fail URA Finals, or beat the URA Finals This is where you get all your umas to use for event missions, Team Trials, assess them to see their potential or where you fucked up, whatever you'd like.
Here's a screenshot of me having some Bakushins because I was farming monies to buy from Tazuna's scam shop and two Top Cun runs I did this afternoon in an attempt to spark farm. One of them is favorited because I ended up liking her enough to fill in a spot in my F2P Team Trials team, but the other I did beat URA Finals with but her sparks are trash so I'll send to the glue factory later. That's what the Transfer button is for, which you push that, and select which uma you don't need in your roster. You get peanuts for support points by doing this even with higher ranked umas, but it's better than nothing and if you're starting out, it'll give you something to build up.

you need MLB Fine Motion or you're not witmaxxing. the entire idea is that instead of resting you train wit any time it's rainbow and nothing else is strong, so that way you never need to click the rest button outside of specific scenarios like right before summer. you'll get S wit with ease and it'll give hundreds of speed along the way too. you remove a lot of the potential for bad RNG because you can't get night owl.
