To be honest I never understood why people claim Malkavian is bad for a first playthrough. My first run was as a Malkavian and it made me fall in love with the game with how unique it was. The only clan I wouldn't recommend to newcomers is Nosferatu, because the whole social aspect is 90% of the reason why you should play this game. Yeah, the unique reactions are fun and all, but you spend almost your entire playthrough running around sewers or skulking around really slowly.

The origins bit sounds great and more items for elves and ulfar is good.
Archetypes and number scaling need substantial reworks, it's not easy to fix. Good to see they are taking a crack at it, but I doubt they'll properly fix balance, inflating HP and dmg on enemies won't help much the momentum abilities also need reworks.
As for the companions, imo just give the option to fully respec their talents, lock the base archetype (in the case of solomorne 2nd one as well) and boom, easy fix. Also recommend making Marazhai Baldedancer base class if you own Void Shadows

Being an unsanctioned psyker does not automatically mean you're a heretic. There are millions of people at any given point in time who are loyal to the imperium and the Emperor, who have not gotten sanctioned yet. They're not heretics.

Kibellah's psychic abilities are also very limited. They don't manifest in any other ways than just interacting with the tarot, hearing traces of people from the past, and getting a "feeling" about certain evidence at crime scenes. These are actually all from the rogue trader rulebook as talents a psyker character can take, so I like that owlcat subtly included all of these. Darktide alluded to them as well, with the psyker personality option who used to be an enforcer.

Anyway, she's not "enough" of a psyker to be noteworthy, if that makes sense. She even completely denies it herself if you mention she might be one.

There was this bit just ahead of the first settlement with all those strange things to interact with, side by side. Some black monolith that game-ended you if you touched it, sentient swarms etc. It really felt artificial, like the devs were elbowing me and going: 'Huh? Isn't that strange and alien? Just like Planescape, right?' but instead it felt like a school fair, some expo or a museum, which is funny since Planscape did have a museum (the one with a wizard that got permabanned mid-slur, one so hateful that you die after hearing it, no doubt something about gnomes) but even it felt much more organic than anything I saw in Numenera. Malkavians also get Obfuscate, and their Dementation powers can be used to distract enemies for a few seconds so you can sneak past them, they also have Auspex to see through walls, so imo they make the best stealthy vampires if you want to go that route. At high Obfuscate levels you can just run around stealth killing everything in your way and using Dementate on a few enemies to drain them to get your blood back. It is about fixing the order of the world, at least as the monad sees it. Other than combat abilities and the criminal gaze thing, you can at points retcon stuff using time portals. Aeon is also one of the parts with the most reactivity and cool visuals.

They're too middle of the line. If you want to do up close, shotgun does more damage. If you want to go from afar, rifle does more damage. And if you're going mid-range, shotgun and rifles still do more.

For pistols I just pumped initiative so I always went first, and then abused cloaking fields so I could drop consecutive fan hammers for 2 turns straight. It carried me through pretty much the entire game.
