The custom content is fine if you just like collecting bear asses and never read quest text or NPC dialogue (which is next to nonexistent on turtle). Everyone uses a pfQuest fork that tells you where to go even for the custom quests so you never have to read anything.

This really is the crux of the issue. I would rather them just tell me it isnt going to be ready for another 3 months than feeling like tonight is when it will launch for 2 weeks straight. they need a community manager whose job is to talk to the community and try to suss out what their concerns are, make sure they're heard, communicate these concerns to the devs and then reports back. and then that same person would talk to the devs to get updates on things to bring back to the community, and help the developers draft statements and coordinate how they're going to keep everyone informed of shit.

if i were the community manager i'd make a channel that only people who had been in the server for longer than this last month could be in for this kind of thing for starters. nothing these launch tourists have to say is worth listening to.

it's not even about a solution necessarily, it's just having someone that's part of the team but still in their corner and is listening to them. and when they get answers back from the devs that directly address their concerns, even if it's not the answer they want to hear, it's much much much healthier than this 2h CD bullshit.

i'm inclined to agree that the problem is him, i feel like he's horrible at delegation and coordination. often times it feels like all the various team members are working and making statements totally independent of each other. the Gurubashi Discord has had problems because 1 mod says it's okay to post a link to advertise but another will time them out for 7 days. it's extremely messy and chaotic, and it's a chaotic situation sure, but 2 weeks is more than enough time to have these issues ironed out.
