Not good. They're still great removal for one monster but that's not good enough. If there's ever a future meta where the best deck puts all its eggs in one basket then they'll be worth considering again. Many Ryzeal players aren't setting their boards up properly to defend against stuff like this so they're better than usual right now but that'll change in the coming weeks.
But that's just for using them as removal in other decks.

As a deck of their own they're absolutely worthless and always have been.

Those past few months I've been just doing the bare minimum to get most gem rewards.
Ranked gems? Haven't cared about those since Tearlaments were neutered (since in my opinion that was peak yugioh), those days I just end the season either on Platinum or Diamond and that's it.
If a cup or event ends up being too annoying I just say fuck it, wait until the last batch of missions appears and then do it.
Need 4 to 5 hours to get 100 or 200 gems? Don't care, I will just close the game and go back to playing Stellaris or RimWorld or something since I already have tons of dust and a sizeable card collection.

Yes. Master Duel ladder only cares about your overall winrate. With a deck like Maliss that has an extra chance to insta-lose, the high overall winrate is offset by a small unlucky streak instantly knocking you out of the tournament, but in MD you just go again and the luck will even out over time.
This also applies to a million sub-rogue decks which arguably means they are in contention for rogue status in MD that get hit extra hard by some hand trap or are just somewhat bricky or are more coinflip dependent or whatever which is why people are able to climb to M1 with decks that were considered so bad in paper that nobody could accurately tell you what they did before they released in MD.

If you want something that has good synergies with Branded and is a decent deck then Branded Chimera is a cool option. Branded Fusion is a starter for Chimera because you can summon Rindbrumm by sending Gazelle from the deck which triggers Gazelle.
If you want to be a based lorechad then play Springans and use some of the material you make to summon Verte and use it to make Mirrorjade at the end of your combo.

If you do pay attention to the paper formats its not entirely rocket science to see the impact a release will have but most TCG niggers can't engage their brains.

Maliss is some of the highest bullshit this game as seen south of Tear. Ryzeal is strong and versatile. Maliss underperforms in the tournament scene, especially TCG, because you are guaranteed 2/3 games to have your deck loaded to the fucking nines with silver bullets targetted at Maliss. Siding patterns don't have quite the same amount of fuck you for Ryzeal. This isn't even bringing up the fact cards like Maxx C exist or twice the copies of CbtG.
Maliss release into MD meant a sacky shit format where you drew silver bullets against non Maliss decks or didn't draw them against Maliss, or you played Maliss and got hosed every game.
Ryzeal entering the format makes Maliss stronger, because now you have the same shit that happened when Gimmick Puppet support released. Two very powerful decks with extremely polar opposite answers.

Dude, maliss and yummy are incredibly degenerate despite their cuteness. Ryzeal gets carried HARD by that one ritual archetype (literally custom made by kebrew jewart), but on its own it can't do shit. Maliss was doing just fine with just apollousa, then they gave it the ignister cards and it gained a lot more consistency on top of being able to play past more handtraps than usual, notably nibiru. OCG tried to nerf it by banning their other rabbit, and while it did see less usage after the fact, it still has the accode omni negate and the a bao + gryphon lock. Most of what makes Maliss broken isn't really the archetype's fault. If they could take back the last 5 years of Cyberse slop and ban all the ridiculous support cards like Splash Mage, Accesscode, Terahertz, Desavewurm, every single Mathmech card, etc then Maliss would be perfectly fair. I like the event because I rarely get to play synchro, I usually stick to Fusion decks and Link slop. Kashtira and Paleo are my only XYZ.
Regardless, Centurion is very fun and I’ve mixing it with Swordsoul, RDA or White Forest. I do lack the latest Tenyi synchro so I’m sure others who do have them will have an easier time. But yeah pretty okay event imo. My only problem is people playing non synchro decks like Dark World and such when they banned Horus for being too self sufficient.
There is a weird rationale for their banlists honestly.
Also I noticed a side effect of Ryzeal for ranked is EVRYONE running ultimate slayer in the event.

Here, I updated my list. Ash isn't normally the problem card since there's multiple combos that play around it, but Imperm is a problem because Coral Anemone isn't legal, being a Link monster and all. Without her, there's no insulation for the White Aura engine's tuner effects when they summon from GY, so imperming 1 fish without having a decent normal summon can just be a turn ender, but if they have ash on top of it, they can just save it for Arionpos which is actually a good hit if you don't have engine or the Field Spell anyway since its a HopT effect.
