Only shitters dislike loot council. Though it isn't really needed in Vanilla. It's practically mandatory for pushing Mythic retail content though. Performance based loot distribution with heavy weight for tanks/healers, and sometimes DPS when the next boss is a dps timer, is a good thing. It helps the entire guild progress and everyone ends up getting loot in the end anyways. Vanilla is really only about gearing tanks, you don't really need a loot council as long as everyone knows the tanks need to get geared.

I genuinely don't think anything has been as harmful to the hype of this server than the mods. The devs are fine, I don't care if they've made mistakes, they're amatures. I expected the launch to be bad, maybe not this bad but whatever. Chatters can be kind of annoying, sometimes their whining can be irritating, but the mods? The mods are genuinely the worst, it's not like you can use the excuse "they're novices too" because it doesn't take a lot of training or skill to be a mod. But these buffoons do nothing but rile up the chatters and spread misery, they rarely ban or delete messages that are actually issues but will cut down the third guy to copy pasta while leaving the other two up.
