Guys, I used AI voice acting in my game. What this means is I can price my game lower. Instead of being 25 dollers, it will be 10, since become I didn't have to spend money on voice actors means I need less money to recoup the dev costs. I believe that's fair and if you disagree, you should die.

One of my parents was addicted to gambling, specifically the bing bing wahoo VLT machines, and it nearly bankrupt my family, among other problems. Now everyone I know is a vapid bing bing wahoo cellphone addict who go to restaurants, parties, even rivers or lakes so they can be photographed doing things and upload these images to be viewed by their 'peers' who are equally corrupted by this retardation.
Sometime around the turn of the century technology stopped improving life and started making it worse. The worst part is that all of the same people I know who are hopelessly addicted to gamifying their social lives and relationships with family/friends all agree that social media is garbage but they are powerless to stop. Easier said than done. You need to really think about a game YOU want to play, not just making whatever gameplay seems easiest to make (which is usually what platformers are)
A good 3D platformer usually has really solid base movement. Really, any good 3D game starts with revising the base movement until it feels fun to play with nothing but the movement.

How are you supposed to handle animated sprite sheets in Unity?

So far I've done two approaches
>single anim per sheet
>turn sheet into .anim sprite animation
and

First is easy to make the .anims with some editor code but a hassle to juggle the animations in gameplay. Second feels a bit limited in that you'd want all animations to have the same amount of frames so you can control the row you're animating on the sprite sheet to change animation.

I've added a new animation where the tackled player will fall to the ground. The menu will update depending on whether the CPU/Player decides to either block or tackle.

Started working on different weapon variations. This is the Siphon, which adds 1 to your hull health after every other attack.

Weapons are always attached to the wing system, so when you get a new weapon, the wing design always changes to support that new weapon. I think I'll just do Hull & weapon visual variations since if I make graphical changes for every single piece of equipment you can get, it would be hundreds.

Aah man I'm still so fucking pissed. This year's GMTK jam was an absolute disaster for me.
I don't have friends so I used the GMTK Discord server to try to find some randos to work with. I got together a group with me as artist and 2 others as coders, but I had to kick one of them out because he literally hadn't done anything by day 2 and was complaining the entirety of the first day because we didn't vote for his ideas. So I lost pretty much the entire second day because this guy, WHO SAID he was doing level design, hadn't done a single fucking thing for 2 days and I had already done the character designs, writing script, etc the first day.
So I have to cover for level design too which is fine except that the other coder is writing super buggy code that barely works and I have to write half the scripts too and then fix the other half that he wrote. But it's still not a disaster because at least I was able to get the first level looking halfway decent (picrel). Except when I was asleep before the last day this fucking dipshit(12h timezone difference) "fixes" the level art by grabbing some random shitty assets from itch.io and absolutely spamming them everywhere along with duplicating and spamming the existing assets, instead of actually working on the game and doing level design and fixing bugs, which I then had to do when I woke up with 4h left, instead of doing the rest of the level art like I wanted to do.
Like it might have been fine if I could just do the level design, art, and half the coding. But I couldn't just have that, I had to have one asshole that shot me in the foot by lying to us, and then the other idiot just shits all over my art while I have my back turned and leaves me to actually finish the game.
There were so many other problems but I can barely even begin. I've had good jam teams before I don't know how I got so unlucky this time.
