Came from reading a post from tieba about Elysia being a superior protagonist than Kiana.
And I kept reading the comments there and as a Kiana fan, i'm kinda sad for the perception the CN community got of Kiana but I can't say they are wrong in some things.
From what I've read:
Kiana won a lot of hate after the final arc, that's something I already knew, not only that but many people got even more angry when she 'killed' Sa and not Hua. I remember they called her a vampire because she sucks others to gain power herself or some shit like that.
I don't disagree that Kiana's part at the end of part 1 was very disappointing. Basically to me it seemed like Hoyo only had in mind Mei and Bronya for the final arc, they had a reason to get the power up but for Kiana it was just like, "Welp, the cocoon has choosen you so you go" and that's it, no further reason other than someone had to do it and Kiana won the lottery ticket. It was very lame.
Then the thing that contradicted APHO, in APHO they made it seem like Mei and Theresa really had a sense of lost for Kiana like they couldn't see her. Heck even Theresa says "Mei and I lost someone very special to us but Mei was emotionally stronger than me". But at the end of part 1 we find out that yeah, Kiana is on the moon but she is just chilling there and they can go to see her, we get a story from the dorm chibis that Mei went to visit Kiana just before APHO 1 happens. It was very disappointing.
I've read also comments saying from the main trio Kiana is the less popular in CN, specially after the part 1 ending and the fact that Mei and Bronya appeared in Genshin and/or HSR which made their presence bigger while Kiana not.
And now they are putting Kiana in a trash auto chess game that absolutely no one is going to play and if they do it won't be for a long time so...
Anyways as I said, as a Kiana fan it's quite sad to read all of that. But I have to say that the Tieba forum is always full of shit.

It ultimately was an attempt to rehabilitate Honkai's image to the public and "re-imagine" it for a wider casual audience, ergo their new Genshin/HSR normalfag patrons. If part 2's launch was actually successful, it was very likely that they will try and change part 1 too since some of the things there are probably too offensive and unsafe to the average normalnigger in 2025.

"Genshification" anon is right in a way especially with what they first intended part 2 to be, a loosely constructed data simulation macguffin which essentially is a carte blanche tool to give them a "winging it and see what sticks" approach to their storytelling while simultaneously making the arcs as barely connect with each other aside from its vague assumption that "discovering" these obscured datapoints will uncover the ebic beeg sekrit to what caused the Martian society to stagnate. They literally took this shitstain nigger way of storytelling from Genshin and HSR which is fucking annoying and everyone and their mother can see what they were doing from a mile away.

At least they remedied this shit they were trying to pull off with giving Helia and Coralie their own character development arcs but the underlying problem of Mars being an infinite ideas guy simulator is still there. I couldn't think of any way to interpret this other than they got lazy and have no idea what to do with HI3 after part 1 ended when they can still expand on the major unresolved plot points they were left with like the "ideas" question or the cocoon itself. They instead made a whole new shadowsludge bullshit that behaves like Honkai but not really.

Maybe that's why they made the characters as perfectly boring and disposable as possible. They don't want people to get attached to them because they want to throw as many new characters as possible in part 2. Thelema and Lantern are both one-off banner characters who'd be gone the moment their shill arcs ended and that's exactly what they were. They even changed the UI to reflect this bullshit vision some niggerfaggot minor executive inside Mihoyo while maniacally rubbing their hands with glee.

Anyone praising this shift of direction part 2 was trying to go for wants this game to be Genshified. This is what "Genshification" means

Tbh i'm starting to think that Part 2 will just ending next year and they'll start with APHO development soon or at least APHO 3 mode is coming.
The problem is that this game needs to fix a LOT of things (beginner experience, finishing the UI, new endgame mode (personally since it's getting stale for me)) or even animated shorts/more marketing!
This game should be and can be a better game if the devs actually go do those things. But no, the higher ups axed half/majority of the devs and now we are stuck with a honkai 3rd that is barely the honkai it was back then which is funny.
Ggz/hg2 is still the same even if the dev team has gotten even lesser but for h3rd, they basically said "fuck the formula the players knew" and tried to go for a winder audience which didn't work. They tried to bring more people with the HSR x H3rd which didn't do shit and if the leaks are right we'll have an OTHER collab with shitfly as the valk instead of god knows what else.
If the dev team could finally realize that they should caterer more the the old audience instead of the new one, we could have gotten so much more or perhaps we were already in APHO...
Also i don't mind making new characters, hell we could have gotten Helia and Coralie arc in APHO, i wouldn't mind. We could have gotten the same characters from part 2 but with a different story.
I mostly hate that h3rd now is basically a plaything for new devs and it's just for market bs like the new elysia battlesuit, they could have made leylah the new valk (since she's very important) but no. it's a character who her arc ended years ago and now, they are milking her.

Besides how clunky Coralie is and how unsuited she is for an onfield character fighting a boss, this has to be one of the best boss fights we've had right? Super cinematic and once Helia is involved, the fight becomes much more fun, the split screen element was great as well.
