no, you get bonus affinity for every race win shared between parents and grand parents. currently it's 1 point for each graded race (if a parent and grandparent have won the same race it's 1 point. if both parents and all 4 grandparents have won the same race it's 5 points).
in the future it will be only G1 races, but 3 points instead. this will be retroactive, so just try to maximise the same G1 victories between parent and grandparents.
The trainee doesn't matter (since your affinity is decided at career start.

For example for double O affinity you need 150 affinity. so the same 10 races between all parents/grandparents would get you there no matter the affinity between umas(after the above mentioned change).
