that's because in EQ you could crouch if you were a tall race going into a building meant for smaller races (and even then you'd need spells for some instances like gnome buildings are so small it's impossible for trolls/ogres to get into them) but WoW doesn't have crouching or shrink spells available to players so they had to make sure the building entrances were large enough anyone could fit in
