You know, I believe this is the first time EVER I saw someone calling Don's base EGO the best one in the game.

I've been doing a shred of re-reading over the events of canto six. What we know about Erlking and all that and I've come to a bit of a problem; Erlking is meant to have used the mirror world to interact with Matt before and learn how to act like him completely (seemingly to fool real Heathcliff for about twenty minutes)
But we know he exists as Matt because of Linton's sister wearing the identity. Something about this situation bothers me and I don't know how to verbalize it. Was Erlking a thing all those years ago when Heathcliff joined the Dead Rabbits? Did it retroactively gain the knowledge of how to act like matt because that's just what the flow commanded? Everything about Erlking from the moment he's introduced to the point he flees with the coffin is so bizarre and feels like a plot hole.

With that in mind and what Carmen has told us about how mirror worlds are simply possibilities we envision to be true, doesn't that mean Erlking exists as we know him because of what we've been told he did and has done? If he was truly capable of passing through mirror worlds like we've been told, I feel like there would be more effort to show just what the consequences of that is. Low bar because the ENTIRETY of Ruina boils down to big noombers good. Simply nuking everything is the only thing that matters and Power not only lets you deal more damage, but it also wins clashes. That's on top of the myriad of direct damage buffs.
The only remotely complex thing in the game is Discard, which sucks ass (literally all of them other than ammo, Flip the Table and High Low are just shitty economy effects you never bother with because it clutters your deck). There is no interesting way to play the game unless you REALLY go out of your way to gimp yourself (i.e. no attribution, no power passives, no damage passives or smoke, no meta builds in general).
Limbus improved in some areas (AoE attacks no longer automatically win the game and statuses can't be stacked infinitely), but the all-or-nothing clashing system was a retarded choice and, starting with like Canto 5, they began regressing back into Ruina's shitty endgame balancing.

I'd argue manager Don was just as hyped, since people noticed she was going to be "What if Sancho betrayed papa instead?" type ID.
Also, I see just as much talk about the current one, but anyway, Wild hunt was arguably a huge step up from the previous main bosses, in terms of threat level and powers, so being able to get an ID that incorporates all the shit he had, and looks flashy as fuck helps.

The main detriment of Manager Don and Lord Lu is that most of their attacks are not that flashy, Don's S3-2 is neat, and Lord's moves are fluid and neat, and the combo attacks look super fun, but slamming a fucking iron maiden on someone, trapping them inside, then pulling them back and hitting them while thunder strikes per strike and the screen flashes? That one is hard to top.

Retards assumed that for some fucking reason, even though the entire game works on the basis of infinite worlds existing out there, meaning every single action, cause and effect creates a diverging timeline, Elrking giving up after realizing that not everything is fated to be pure misery forever, meant that no more Erlkings exist for some fucking reason, and therefore it was impossible for us to get him as an ID.

I think people have trouble rationalizing what infinite parallel world theory is like, and default to marvel type shit, where there's only extremely distinct variations of worlds, when the theory would imply there's just as many infinite elrkings targeting and equally infinite number of other heathcliffs, but that doesn't even begin to flinch the infinite amount of Heathcliff variations that don't go off the deep end like him.
