Being "anti-wind" is crazy to me. Like to me, you're saying "I hate Sonic and I hate everyone who likes Sonic or wants Sonic to act like Sonic". Sonic is not tied down by an organization, a resistance group, an ideology, or a relationship. He goes his own way and won't let anyone force him to do something he doesn't want to do.
"Sonic is like the wind" isn't something exclusive to the 00's era of the Japanese games, and the fact that people do think it's exclusive to a language/era is extremely sad because it proves that they don't consume any of media they're talking about. While windism overlaps with JP purism, it's not the same thing. Don't treat the wind trait as something exclusive to SoJ when it's also in localizations and non-canon western material.

Alright, you fags who kept saying to watch Classic Who finally got me. I took the plunge and started with the 4th Doctor because he's the most popular and everyone says watch Classic Who because it isn't pozzed woke nonsense.
And WOW. You weren't fucking around. This is how game Sonic should be.
That point about Sonic being a "kami" or a "force of nature" is captured perfectly in Classic Who. The Doctor is this alien god-like force of nature who is fundamentally a friend to humanity but also exists completely outside of it. He just shows up, drops in during an ongoing conflict, and solves it with a mix of pure ingenuity and being a total freak before leaving. He's not a soldier, he's not a king, he's just this force that tips the scales. That's the perfect idea for Sonic in a world with humans, not just another wacky relatable toon teenager.
And the show itself feels like Sonic. The constant adventures, the wacky one-off planets and villains, the way it can be completely silly one minute and then have some genuinely creepy dystopian shit the next. It's all there.

I can't imagine getting mad at someone for liking a character too much. You complain about how soulless this franchise is, but you also make sure to stamp out any passion whenever you see it.
