I've done all true endings without knight's defense, but I did have a death for 2 of them, and it's heavily RNG dependent.

I don't remember if second/good end can do pummel but bringing a knight should be fine if you don't have any other high damage dealers(like fps tier) in case there's roar/pummel spam
third/true end is omega rng if ur not a whale but bringing a knight should make it a lot less rng, still gets fucked over by roar spam. If you don't bring a knight and the boss uses pummel, it's just -1 revive

Depending on how you look at it.
The currency gains are awful and stingy.
If you're not going to spend any money then you're at mercy of a limited gacha that doesn't carry over your pity to the next banner.
The good thing is that you get plenty of "standard" gacha rolls and a lot of permanent characters are good or even better than limited ones.

The game is certainly harder than your average gacha RPG. But the difficulty can be pretty flexible. It's not "you build this party or you won't be able to clear it" kind of game. It's more about grinding long and hard until you beat the dungeon into submission.

He appears randomly in Abysses, but sometimes you get unlucky or don't feel like playing that week so you can reload the Pier in Abyss 2 to spawn him. There's no enemies and it's technically still the Abyss, but sometimes it still takes a long fucking time to find him instead of some other random NPC.

If you just want to use the least tags possible with the greatest chance of success, 2 Fighters 2 Mages 1 Priest (or arguably 2 Priests 1 Mage) and swap MC between THF to FIG depending on delving/bossing
