can nai 4.5 copy an artstyle that isn't in the dataset? i've heard vibe transfer can copy an artstyle by setting it as -0.1 or something but not sure how to do that. played around with regular vibes but it'd just copy stuff that was in the art, like if it was a girl in uniform it'd copy the style and the girl/her clothes when i just want it to copy the way things are drawn.

Basically you use a positive strength copy of the image, and a negative strength copy.
For the positive, keep information extraction at 0.7 as higher can get goofy. For the negative, use very very low extraction, like 0.1.
Basically this kind of helps keep character and background info from bleeding into the gen, while maintains most style aspects.
I actually recommend turning off Normalize and going fairly heavy on strength. For instance, my go-to vibe pairing experiments right now use two images with 0.5 strength and two with -0.5 strength. Normalize only takes into consideration the absolute value, so you’d be effectively halving strength if you leave it on.
And frankly, I think 1.0 absolute strength is too low for style or consistency, but can depend on the mix. v4 grasped styles at lower strength but had quality issues.
Having said that, background colors and overall color tones aren’t easy to control with 4.5 vibes at heavier strength. You basically need to increase background/color emphasis quite heavily to counter sometimes.
And sometimes as far as style, it latches on to odd details. Especially for 3D and pseudo-realistic vibes, results can turn out pretty weird, maybe because they trained the model without realism in mind. I don’t know. Not my thing either way.

Also as far as things getting copied that you do not want, make sure you’re mentioning details that would cancel out these vibe traits, like clothing or eye color. Without them, those vibe aspects have a higher chance to bleed over.

But I have to say, I’ve been enjoying the outputs I’m getting by altering my narration style to a multi-perspective first-person stream-of-consciousness narration style that hops from character to character, with ancillary support by an omniscient third-person narrator.

well first off, I'm not really interested in getting into an argument over what THE TRUE STATE OF /AIDS/ is, so I'll make my case plainly and leave it at. you may disagree, of course.

Aside from my above comments, I reckon many people who do use instruct models use an API from OpenRouter or another such service and hook it up to Storypad, or SillyTavern, or some other app, or hibernate. Or running their own models on their own PC. Instead of lotusing or relying on the goodwill of hosters from Kobold. API use being pay per token means less people commit to being free onlys.

I swapped to d&d dice and it works MUCH better fairness wise, you can see it call the API and then describe the result, even if there is some strange behavior I have yet to fix where it dumps context into the chat, pic related.

Lots of (mostly fixable) issues you need to constantly remind the AI of, as expected, miscalculating character sheets etc. Sticking to the AP is so-so, not very good at keeping the campaign moving between scenes. I've actually read the first chapters of Rise of the Runelords and it's done some interesting things where it has replaced the roles of certain characters with others.

For example, it kept Lonjiku alive and killed off Tsuto instead, giving his role in the ap to his father. Very interesting choice.

Overall storytelling wise I'd say that the AI is a competent, if samey and spineless GM. It does pretty well with tying even things it's hallucinated back into the story and the lore, impressive improv bullshit.
It's bad at comprehending the rules of pathfinder, you have to remind it of a lot things to get a good experience.
You also have to understand that no matter what, it's pretty bad at saying "no, you can't roll for that."

I'm sorry if the adaptations have failed you. I can't even promise to do better next time. Everything to do with AI is so subjective... I don't know what to say. This is the closes thing I got to a functioning tabletop game using AI models. Maybe the tech's not there yet, but if it isn't now, it won't be in the future because the fuckers are training the AI with other AI data instead of feeding it proper prose. I'm currently experimenting with a really simplistic system called FATE, maybe that one's more suitable for AI than a complex system like 3.5e or PF. I'll try adapting Dungeon Crawl Classics, maybe OSR works better than more advanced editions. I'll ship a custom preset for PF with the next update. It will include a prompt for combat and initiative, maybe even timer.

I do have an AIRL anthro medieval prompt loosely based on Redwall, and Llama would actually probably fall into the same two faction categories as horses and bovines and the like - basically rural labor, farmers or knights. Guards are mainly left to the loyal species like domestic dogs.
Although I can't recall a Llama character ever being generated. I should update that prompt for the new versions.

I think there were a couple workshop mods to make it work "better", but I doubt they're been kept up to date. But yes, AIRL has been heavily Instruct-focused for a while now, much to its benefit as far as actual game mechanics and the like go.
I would not recommend Errato in AIRL though from previous experience either. Max has a disclaimer even in the settings recommending the free model (an older variant of Gemini) over it. The free model isn't too bad either to be honest, just slow and even more prone to tarnished skeletal ozone creatures named Elara than the newer models.

Coreweave has recently released their in-house base model, a 30b model. They are closely collaborating with Anlatan, so the next model might be a 30b fine-tune, resulting in 60b in fp16, with 20b of unused space per GPU. Considering that a Coreweave node has 8 GPUs and 2,048GB of regular RAM, that Anlatan rents, this setup offers a substantial context window. I think that the next model will support around 64k of context.
