Modifications today:

The thing I eat shit to the most is the triple fireball. Not being able to recognize it over the single straight fireball before committing to an evasive action. Evasion +1 is op. Being able to easily roll every attack I've tried to so far has made a huge improvement. I actually saw the pounce phase twice today. Potential gear improvements are maybe making a silver rathalos set so I can have tenderizer and critical up. Sucks seeing your skill hardcap so clearly. If I ever win it's because I'll get the god rng with monster attacks, crits, and no random boomer alzheimers fuckups.

Convert Element is incredibly underrated. At level 3 when activated you gain 180 dragon element if using a dragon weapon, but this is negligible. What you want is the proc. You have to be using a weapon with element on it, but it doesn't have to be dragon. Upon dealing enough raw to the target, it triggers an explosion similar to blast but with way more fucking damage. At level 3 for example it deals 280 fixed damage with an extra 100 dragon damage subject to resistances. You can also trigger it many times while the skill is active, it doesn't seem to have any sort of diminishing returns. It's easily my favorite skill in the game and quite strong. The problem is getting it, the 3 Arkveld pieces that can have it have poor skills/slots which really just leaves the talisman which only goes up to level 2 (still very worth getting) but in a few days the new talismans drop and will void it. If the RNG talismans can't have Convert Element I'm gonna be real annoyed.

Swell. The Arkveld's armor rating is also likely a lot lower than Shia, the ATs, Lag, and Steve's as well, so you wouldn't want to get hit even if you want to use convert element. And it's likely not a good skill for the ranged weapons since they don't have innate elements.

It really is funny man. This next update is the exact opposite of what appeals to casuals and newfags. They don't care about more difficulty or stuff to grind because they're not good enough to handle what's already in the game and they don't know enough about the game to give a fuck about set building. I guess the thought process here is capcom expected casuals to drop the game within a month but when veteran players started dropping it too they got spooked and so now they're focusing on this so hard. The armor rating is fine, at large when fully upgraded they are only like ~2 defense points lower than the pieces on the sets you mentioned iirc. That said it will work with ranged weapons provided you use elemental ammo, so just a little more finicky there. The real issue with using it with ranged is you need to trigger the buff by taking a hit and sometimes with ranged that just might get you killed.

I've had Rey Dau appear during the Plenty, I was hunting a Balahara and out of nowhere I heard his shriek and he charged in to beat the shit out of the Balahara. I recall Udra and Duna also appearing during the Plenty, so the Inclemency and Plenty seem to be their preferred weathers. Jin Dahaad only appears during the Inclemency.
