also bigmemed, and index and rift cv1 before that. And also fell for the audio strap, though I don't mind the arms. I much prefer having my ears free and the headphones to lift off with the rest of the headset. I wish the drivers were fully off ear like the index, but I've been too lazy to order the custom PCBs and DAC to use my actual index speakers.

eh, it's just 3d printer files, and you can use whatever chink DAC you want to drive them. I have a usb-c one that I used with (also chink) earbuds before I got the audio strap. Which is really the problem; while it isn't great the strap still tolerable enough that I haven't bothered printing out the adapters to see if the index strap is any better. The trough of mediocrity.

Yeah standalone headsets only last around 2-3 hours on their own battery.
You can extend this using an external battery pack, and even technically have infinite battery life if you just swap between two batteries that you're constantly charging

Look up BoboVR, they're the usual go-to recommendation for battery packs that are attached to Quest straps. They sell on Amazon too.

Yeah two 10k battery packs that can charge 22w minimum will keep you charged for forever if you alternate every few hours. A single 20k battery if you've got it on a harness or something is enough to keep you going 8-10 hours or so. If you're lazy and have money you can buy the bobo strap like >>534647426 said and you can comfortably get indefinitely usage out of 2 of their 10k batteries and it removes the effort of having to swap batteries manually.

This is a meme and won't ever happen. The future of groceries is likely a continued decline of in-person shopping so they can reach an efficient state of picking directly from the warehouse and delivering to the customer without the hundreds of hours wasted neatly displaying tens of thousands of products in-between. Convenience stores will continue to be human staffed for a long time because they can do much more than a dorky robot that moves like a 90 year old.

10-15 years ago, it was becoming common to believe fully automated fast food was just a few years away, but after a decade the only difference is more self-service terminals.

I've tried using an ethernet adapter for the quest 3. Why? To improve latency for my racing gaymes. I'd like to avoid using meta's software for usb link because I don't really like the software and the video output.
So, first test with BENFEI: latency is good with steam link and virtual desktop, but after 30 minutes of playtime something fails and it drops the connection. To be more precise, the quest doesn't detect it anymore and I need to unplug and plug it again. The "dust in the usb port" error pops up but it's not the usb port: the usb link works for hours without any problem. The device got a bit hot, but not too much. I've tried even putting it in front of a fan, no difference.
I'm going to try again with the UNI one.
Maybe it's because of the 3 m usb extension cable, I've got to investigate.
This prank has costed me 50 euro already.

Looked up the old discussion about quad view for future reference is someone is interested about the topic.
tldr; not good
The most efficient design would use variable rate, then encode in software right there in the gpu memory using the same map which was used for variable rate rendering.

Advantages
>no extra vertex shader work
>no processing power/transfer bandwidth wasted on occluded area
Disadvantage
>slightly higher gpu memory usage, you need big render target with high supersampled rate, even if most of the memory would use 1 or even less samples
Anonymous No.534735953 >>534736391

SSAA/MSAA don't need multipliers of memory to store the render targets.
It only gets so bad because you are hacking suppersampling by increasing the original render target instead of letting the engine do it properly.
You don't want to do that anyway, because the braindead way of "just increase the rendering res, bro" is also bad for other reasons, like sampling locations being on a grid, instead of being offset on vertical and horizontal axis per final displayed pixel.

zucc 3 headset has multiple ways it can be used:
> standalone, using on-board graphics
very limited processing power, but less latency and much easier to set up. Good for basic games.
> connected to PC over a USB
make sure it's USB 3.0 or USB 3.1! USB 2.0 has vastly slower data transfer speeds. This runs the game on your PC instead of the headset, so you'll need a big GPU with lots of VRAM
>connected to PC over WiFi
more latency, in exchange for comfort. No need to worry about getting tangled up when poledancing for strangers in VR Chat.

If you don't have a fast WiFi network that isn't being used by too many devices at once, you will get a very high latency with latency spikes that are barf city every time your cell phone decides to download emails or your room mate is looking at porn again. A secondary wireless access point used only for VR can really help here, and these can be cheap if you shop around. The minion router is a popular choice because it's cheap.

Why do you need to know and interact with everyone though?
Isn't it a good thing a community is massive so there is a higher chance of finding a small section of it to your exact specs?
The japanese community is massive and is great for it.
I've always envisioned FBF to be for this junction of time. I can't become friends/deep friends with everyone but I can help everyone else potentially find theirs.
Events are there to keep a big community cohesive. A town, a city, a country.

Our weekly meets and the close friends you have found and cultivated here in this thread is your core. But being able to share the same space with groups of people who found their close friends here is something special I think.

It's impossible to keep up with everyone by physical laws and time. But to find the core group of friends who you can truly be yourself in and have fun with is what is important.
And each of our core group of friends become our anchor/harbor to then explore the other parts of /vrg/ knowing there is always a comfy port to come back to.

tl;dr find your core group of friends and have fun with them. Everyone in /vrg/ will root for your happiness likewise in this little corner of the internet we call home.

The camera forwards image data to the software, which transforms it into data compatible with agreed-upon standards for facial tracking. It then sends this out to an address.
Now you need a client that receives this data and transforms it into numbers that control the sliders of your blendshapes (blendshapes are named according to agreed-upon conventions).
The model (which is not loaded into any of those pieces of software) listens for the data and adjusts its blendshapes according to whatever values are sent.

Essentially. The browser runs on our server, and you and the friends you invite to your room can interact with it using our website.

VRChat doesn't support WebRTC , so we had to built RTMP outputs until they add WebRTC support, which they did tell us they will do in the future. The vrchat support is technically not publicly available, but users can buy beta access from LSMedia, who helped us build it.

I can just give it to anyone from the thread for free tho if they want to help test it. Just reach out to me on the Hyperbeam discord via DM only. My discord is Horror

You are basically scraping videos from youtube in vrchat and not watching the ads, which sets off all the anti-bot alarms.

Most fixes involve giving yt-dlp your cookies so that VRChat can log into your youtube account to pull videos instead of doing it anonymously.

https://github.com/EllyVR/VRCVideoCacher worked for me.
https://github.com/ShizCalev/VRChat-YT-DLP-Fix did not work.

Note that Chrome encrypts your cookies so third party applications cannot access them, so you either need to switch to another browser or install an extension that exports the cookies.

Interesting, though I'm dubious they'll do it anytime soon. AVPro doesn't have WebRTC support anywhere on their roadmap, and vrchat paying them to add that feels about as likely as the vrchat devs being competent enough to add it themselves/switch to a different playback library.

They may be late, but so are we, so I can't point fingers. I've not pressed the issue because we are stuck in delay hell. Would be awesome if they find a way to support WebRTC, it would save us a lot of money and be a new feature for every VRC user, not just our company!

New (old) mod for Pavlov. The two mod makers realized that no one was biting with their Omega Rift PUSH gamemode setting, saw that Prequel Trilogy star wars mods on Contractors were popular and so converted everything to Star Wars themed.

This map in particular is unique in that you start off the first PUSH stages mostly in space with starfighters. After you kill off the Corvettes and turrets and shield generators, Imperials start spawning in the Rebel's base and it becomes a capital ship firefight where you have to blast your way to the objectives and blast the objectives (no bomb zones!) or occupy space to progress.

This is not allowed, and would be punished if reported. Can't see a viable way to entirely stop it from happening though, I mean, I can promise you kid knew exactly what he was doing when he entered "femboy toilet". Maybe it would help if avatars and instances would get moderated harder, but that requires manpower and surveillance.

VRC is dangerous by design because you can upload anything you want, this cannot change because the game revolves around this freedom. It would surely help if adult perverts would stop waggling their cocks around in public, but that could only be achieved with a very hard moderation bully, not happening because tupper does not reproduce by mitosis. You cannot stop underage curiosity, making the game 18+ by default wouldn't work either, half of the playerbase would fuck off because they're underage, other half would ignore because they don't trust the privacy aspect of age verification. And so, here we are, underage bat roleplay in a femboy toilet.

also, i think it'd be a huge shame to make it 18+ because having a reason to get along with blender and unity is probably very good for weird autistic kids. it's a nice motivator for creativity, and it definitely teaches some of them a thing or two about proper computer use. i've been modding vidya as a kid and this spark for interest took me far in life, i wish all of those little shits the same

I don't care anyways, I just thought it was weird. Let them be perverted if they want to, i don't care. I'm just scared about predators abusing/grooming them. That could maybe be prevented through AI too in the future.

Make sure you've got the right udev rules in. I've been setting up Index and it had issues with automatically adding them. Easy mode for quick debugging: try to run steamvr as root, see if headset is visible once you do that. If it does, it's most likely some kind of permissions, I bet on udev but I might be biased.

otherwise just grab the udev list from Valve here https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-devices/blob/master/60-steam-vr.rules
i highly recommend avoiding SteamVR but having it installed so you can use the lighthouse driver with Monado either directly or through Envision to help you set up profiles easier
