Rivals has the worst matchmaking and ranking systems in history. If it's Quickplay the game doesn't give a shit and will pit you against GM/Celestial stacks regularly even if you're Bronze. Due to rank decay (whoever seriously wants this at NetEase can jump off a fucking bridge headfirst) you will see GM/Celestial players in Metal ranks if they don't play for awhile. It's a ranking system that benefits no one and it's fucking stupid.

He's fun. For front line you really have to have a tank that is actually willing to go in. For diving he is great, as long as you don't run into a "everyone on the enemy team turns around immediately and melts me" situation. Once you get the awakening form going though he is almost unkillable, and as long as your healers are up and paying attention you can dash out, get healed, then dash back in with no problem. Also really great at protecting your own back line, since you can slow the enemy.
He's not really top tier, but he's enjoyable.

You pretty much always get 2 healers, people have enough sense for that. Then only Jeff and to a certain extent Ultron are the only bad healer picks.

I find it weird that most tanks have really weird primary fires for whatever reason. Even melee vanguards. Like The Thing rocky jab is fucking ass and annoying. Mangeto primary fire is considered to be one of the most awkward primary fires in the game and isn't even all that great as even with splash, you need direct hits to do anything. Emma Frost broke the game and she actually has a beam which is easy to aim in addition to the rest of her kit. The devs are just fucking ass at designing weaponry for tanks. My suggestions for fixing blade. Hear me out.
1) no weapon switching. His M1 is his sword. His M2 is his shotgun.
2) make his shotgun function like spider’s webs. 3 to 5 bullets that auto regen. This discourages standing in the back and poking. they’re to be mixed into his melee.
3) combo the slow and anti-heal on his dash. he now just has one dash that applies both.
4) make the speed boost bar that’s part of the vampire mode a regular function of his melee. vampire mode is now purely for life stealing.
5) make his block function like magneto’s where you can’t use it when it’s in the red zone. A 3 second cool-down every time you touch it is annoying.
6) make him a tank
7) redesign him to use the sleeveless concept art they hard for him

Venom's M1 is one hitscan tendril with three projectile tendrils. First tendril is hitscan so it's the easiest one to hit, landing the other three can be very tricky especially on smaller characters. Venom is also one of those characters where if you're not getting headshots your damage is essentially none existent. Venom also has some actual shit matchups right IMO because of Peni/Rocket team up as well as the new Mantis/Loki and Luna/Adam team ups. Venom also gets CC'd out the ass and has no way to mitigate damage that way. I think Venom is a better mid-range fighter than people give him credit for but at that point you should just be playing Emma. It's why people say Venom is hard to generate "value" with because just performing the basics takes a lot of aim and practice, and then you need to hope your team pushes when you dive. I dunno I just feel like Venom has no place in this game right now. If you're taking a tank spot for dive you're weakening your team's front line, and Venom isn't the threat Black Panther, Spider Man, and Magik are without his ult where he can combo low health characters - assuming a healer doesn't have an ult in the bank. Sadly QP matchmaking is terrible and god help you if you manage to win more than one game in a row and the system matches you against the sweatiest most overwieght players imaginable coordinating their movements like an actual hivemind while your team is you and people ranging from "some dude who just wants to play his favorite marvel character" to "isn't allowed outside without adult supervision"
