This week, strun and latron are the best, and some of the best incarnons overall.

any warframe

any weapon (meta is viral + heat)

put whichever other utility mods you want in the other slots. that's gonna get you back in fighting shape for modern warframe

don't bother farming for base variants of modern frames/weapons yet. they have insanely low drop rates on annoying game modes that you're not going to understand how to complete yet, and entirely new resources you have to grind for. just go for primes until you get bored enough to do dumb shit like alchemy or mirror defence some day.

I don't know what the og comment was but 90% of your power comes from mods.
A general advice for newer players was to get a gun with high base damage like the hek/plasmor/spoilerQuestWeapon#3 since you don't need as many mods to make it work as a low base damage high crit weapon.
As long as you have friends or clanmates donating mods they outgrew to you or shit like their 45th magnetic might drop your gear is irrelevant.
If you're on your own then get to arbitrations as soon as you can since that'll feed you endo and good mods for both damage and survivability at a very early stage.

It is extremely fast to get to MR10-15 just by buying blueprints from the Clan Dojo, weapons from the marketplace in your orbiter and farming the frames from the planets. You should do this for now.
Companions too, they give three times more mastery points than a weapon. Craft them. In no time you'll be able to farm whatever Prime thing you're interested in, or is currently in rotation.

Are you meant to be able solo Orthix missions? I get you use the necromech to kill the orthix itself and it spawns 1-3 little things you need to kill to open it up at 50% but it keeps spawning multiple orphix when I haven't even killed the first and OOPS you lose because you can't keep the entire map free of enemies. Do I just have to speedrun 3 kills to lock in a successful mission mark and it kills all sentients in the circle so don't bother thinning them out? My rig wasn't built for radioactive damage when I tried and the sentients are tanky, eventually they got out of control and it is a loss.
