Just hit the opponent without being hit. Pay attention to what you're doing that is leading to being hit and do less of it. Combos don't matter. They're just for you to do more damage with each opening you find, just do the most basic combo you can if you're dropping. Do anti-airs when you can. Fighting games don't have "camping", you can't just build a little fort of impenetrable hitboxes and run out the clock. Matches aren't supposed to go on 9 minutes. And when you kill someone at high damage they should actually die instead of surviving and floating back onto the stage like a balloon.
