The reason not playing the games is humiliating to them is because they know Sonic is a video game franchise. Everything else, the comics, the movies, the cartoons, they're all derivatives that exist solely because the games were and are successful. When you strip away that foundation, you're left with nothing but fanfiction-tier interpretations that have no real weight behind them. Anti-windfags are acutely aware of this hierarchy, which is why they're so insecure (and thus aggressive) about it. They know their preferred characterizations are built on shaky ground. Their comics are literally just licensed advertisements that take liberties with characters they didn't create, and anti-windfags have to live with the fact that their "versions" of Sonic are essentially expensive fanfiction that could be retconned at any moment by daddy SoJ.
That's why they never openly admit they prefer the comics. They know it makes them look like secondaries.
Instead, they try to chip away at windfags (gamefags) from the shadows, concern-trolling about how "Windfags are forcing things on us" while never actually defending their preferred Sonic interpretations on their own merits. Because they can't. What are they gonna say? "Sonic should act like a condescending insecure quip-machine because Ian said so"? Their entire strategy relies on obfuscation and emotional manipulation, pure cope from people who know they're wrong but are too invested in their headcanon to admit it, lashing out whenever their bubble of delusion is popped by a pin with the words "OOC" on it.

my mind's been in a really dark place lately, the only positive thing I have is crossworlds not being a shitty game and will be fun where I can play with people on it and scream curse words while we laugh and have a good time.

Rouge is the only non-hefty character who's supposed to be able to match Knuckles, punch-for-kick. this franchise is not that kind of series but don't you think it'd be interesting to see sonic characters et mind broken into questioning their world and their place in it, their actions and reactions as they're cornered each time by facts and logic until they either become insane or violently retaliate in a heated moment making them feel even worse?
